With all of the talk about the changes to the Colorado CCW laws, I thought I would share the training requirements for the Utah permit.
Not only is there a specific minimum outline that must be followed, the permits are issued by only one authority so every permit holder is held to the same training standard.
Anyone who wants to teach the class for the permit has to take a state class before they can teach others.
Colorado has no such training requirments. I have talked to others that are teaching Colorado CCW classes, and there is a huge differance in what is being tought. One guy is using the NRA basic pistol class (10 Hours), while another guy is using his own 3 hour program.
I personally am using the NRA basic pistol safety format with an added law section.
