jeepn4evr

This might be a repost but oh well.

Responding to the IHs thread got me to thiking. How many vehicles does everyone have at their house? Of those how many are running and or street legal? Also where do you live? (apt, house, mountians suburbs)

For me there are currently 10 vehicles at my house

1970 F100 2WD- For sale
1972 F250 2WD - For Sale, not street legal but runs
1972 F250 Highboy - fun toy shared with my dad
1992 F250 - daily driver when cold
1974 CJ5 - My fun toy
1987 Areostar - POS work vehicle
1993 Blazer S10
1987 Virago 1100- daily warm weather driver
1989 EX 500 - Same as above
1983 Honda CX 500 - uncles bike my dad stole from him for warm weather

My name is on all the titles of these except the minivan. blazer & Honda. I live in a house in Littleton with no HOA's. All vehicles except the motorcycles are parked outside.

FYI Gary you have to list all the scouts & whatever other vehicles you have running or not lol

My dad had a 48 and 58 willys pickup, The 58 was hacked up with a 289 in it, but the 48 was all original. When he retired from the State (highway worker) he sold it to a man and his son to finish the restoration for $500.. I miss that rig!!!!

I have the following:

1992 Jeep Cherokee
1986 Suzuki Samurai
1985 Suzuki SJ410 (only one that does not run)

The Buick tows better than my XJ on 37's. Lol. It's factory rated to tow 3500 pounds and it has a factory hitch on it! I've exceeded that rating a few times but nothing to serious. It actually tows very very well with about 2500 pounds behind it. Just a little 4x8 trailer beefed up a bit.

Plus, I don't know of any other vehicle that gets 25 mpg with 3000 pounds behind it :flipoff2:

I used to towbar fullsize trucks and trailers with a 70 Maverick I put a 302 in until I hit washboards downhill on a dirt road and the truck I was towing and the car jack-knifed together and I learned the hard way what can happen when your tow vehicle is lighter than what you are towing.

..do you have them paid for? Or are you making payments?

Two observations on this.

1) Most of the vehicles listed are OLD! Older than a bank will make a loan on.

2) Many of the newer vehicles are in the year range of 0%-5% interest rates. This is also during a time when a decent portfolio could get 15%-25%. So having a loan on a vehicle is not really a bad idea if you get 0% or your money is working harder somewhere else.

CherokeeXJ its funny that you say that about the junkyard, my cousin thinks my dad & I should start one. He keeps refering to Sanford & sons. We do have enough small parts around we could almost build another truck from the early 70's. Fortunatly we got rid of alot of parts before my sisters wedding this summer or w could have built another one.

Hey Wranglerman whats that 66 galaxie got in it? If I ever build a old muscle car I want either the galaxie or a 67 mustang fastback. Girlfriend in highschool had a 66 galaxie with an auto & a 390 in it she inherited from her grandmother, original owner. Some of my first tickets were in that car, it was a boat, but a fast one. Funny thing, I think that bench seat was bigger than the one in my truck, but thats another story. I still see that car in Idledale whenever I drive by, almost makes me wanna see if they want to sell it.

99 Isuzu Amigo - Our trail rig
03 Kia Sorento - Her DD
05 Kia Spectra5 - My DD
93 Dodge Dakota - FIL trail rig/work truck
00 Geo Metro - FIL DD, UT tags just expired

All run, all ins, 3 licensed drivers, all in the driveway (Parker suburban 'hood). The garage (3 car) is currently in a woodshop/cabinet manufacturing phase.

The past 2.5 weeks, it was a mechanic shop, as we were installing t-case lower gears, rear locker, suspension lift, body lift, wheels/tires and trimming fenders for them on my buddy's Rodeo. It was on jackstands in the double bay, and the single bay was the bench top area for working on the carrier/t-case.

The HOA and neighbors are jealous. Not violating any rules and have tons of projects going.
