There are a couple of things I'm looking to get for my 23:

Extended slide catch
Extended mag catch

Not much else at this point - the gun's pretty much the perfect CCW weapon (IMHO, of course) in all other aspects.

Does anyone have a good recommendation on sources for these? Oddly enough, I'd actually prefer an online source since I'd be handing that info over to my brother as ideas for me for Christmas presents, and he lives in - gasp - Massachusetts.

Thanks, yo.

I have made several purchases from jwkpatrick@yahoo.com both parts and ammo. He posts on glocktalk under 5532jwk and several other boards. Shoot him an email and he will send you a price list. Only downside is he only takes money orders.

This guys is local and has very good prices.

My question is, why do you want these? Seriously, leave the glock alone for a carry weapon. If you are competing, buy them. But really, a glock was designed for carry as-is. For a carry weapon, you don't need fast mag reloads. If you go through more than 1 mag, you have problems.

The one part I did settle on was an extended slide catch. It's not even that much more prominent. It just makes handling the weapon that much easier.

FWIW, it was my brother that ended up purchasing this for me from Glockmeister.com. Can't say if was a good experience for him, and I haven't installed mine yet (so I can't attest to the fit of the part).

The slide catch isn't bad.

The extended mag catch makes the pistol slightly less comfortable to shoot. However, it does make mag changes easier.

On one of my glocks, I have almost all of the factory "trick" parts. The only thing I don't have is the 4lb striker spring. Mine are all factory though as it is on a G34.

I have seen too many misfires with the 4lb striker spring to go with that. One day I may try one, but not right now.

Just as an update: after sort of losing where I put that $17 part, I found it and installed it last night.

Installation was easy: knock out the pin holding the trigger, slide catch, and some other stuff in place, pull out old slide release and insert new release. Reset pin.

I have yet to run a mess of rounds through the gun, but I can say the handling the 23 has gotten a lot easier with that catch installed. Should be a factory install, standard, IMHO. Good upgrade for under $20...
