My little Kawasaki Ninja 250.

No real mods as of yet, bought the bike to learn on so that is pretty much it's only purpose right now.

Mods include but are not limited to: Jardine Header and Race core Slip-On, Power Commander III tuned for cheyennes altitude, custom fender eliminator, LP turn signals and a few other goodies here and there.

Not really...most of the riding i do is up through the poudre and horsetooth and the linking canyons and stuff....

Although, if you dont mind a LONG ride, hitting the snowy range is AWESOME!! But its probably getting a bit late in the year to be ridding there....the roads start to get bad early in september and with all the moisture we have had the last couple weeks, im going to assume its probably pretty much done with till early summer next year.

WOW!! I want to get something like that, I have been looking into getting a xr400 and getting a second set of wheels to go back and forth from street to dirt... I was trying to find a way to chaeply set up some motard rims though... I dont want to drop half the cost of the bike on wheels! (want to buy used!)

someday, hopefully soon I will have something that looks sorta like that...

after I sell my current bike...

1988 Honda VTR250, which I am beginning to think has some mods done to it... It already has a K&N...

I found my rear rim/tire used on www.supermotojunkie.com , but had to shell out for a new front wheel. Only takes about 15 minutes to go from street setup to dirt.

Ive got a 1990 Yamaha FZR600.

Mods:
K&N Filter
Jet kit
FZR1000 Fairings
Lowered 1.5"
Custom Seats

This winter it will get a R6 tail, seats, and a YZF600 tank and a paint job. Im in te process of stripping the aluminum parts off to send to anodizing too. Clutch, peanut, and stator covers, upper triple tree, heel guards, tank ring, and possibly wheels. Havent decided on the color yet.

These pics are a little older but all I have at the moment. They dont have my new seats or rear fairings in the shot. My buddy recently wrecked it so Im in the process of replacing the front forks, mirrors, clutch lever, and a few plastic pieces. Friends dont let friends ride their bikes, no matter how experienced they are.

Sorry, no pictures, but I have a few.

I have a 2005 BMW R 1100s Boxer-Cup factory race replica. It's been chipped and piped (Lazer exchaust), a lot of anodized bolt-ons. As far as flat out speed it's kind of middle of the pack where sport bikes of that displacement are concerned. BUT...there are VERY few bikes out there that will handle the twisties like this bike will.

1986 Ninja 1000R. I had this bike in 1990, and sold it. Last year I had a guy doing a lot of work on my Jeep. I went out to his garage in Brighton and low and behold there in his garage gathering dust was my old Ninja. He'd baught it from the guy I sold it to and them bought a 1993 ZX-11 and rode that instead. I bought it back from him about a month ago and have been having fun tooling around on the bike of my youth. :)~

Not really a canyon carver, but I grew up riding on the back of my Mom's 1978 R100/7 full fairing BMW touring bike. She quit riding about 6-7 years ago and I just recently convinced her to sell it to me. It has just under 11,000 original miles and is in prime condition.

XR400, Excel/Talon wheels, 16/40 gears, 320mm rotor, Racetech suspension, Baja kit, steering damper, sliders, and more. It was my first streetable bike and made me nervous. I laid it over in the twisties in Deckers. Now I stick to the water.

Don't have pics I can find of mine right now but have a 89 Kawasaki EX 500 that is a few different colors, wasn't running when I bought it but thanks to EBAY I found the parts I needed. Looks similar to Tiffs bike. First "crotch Rocket" but its slow compared to friends CBR 600 he let me borrow for a weekend. Also have a 87 Yamaha Virago 1100 that I learned to ride the streets on. Pretty quick for a "cruiser". I can beat R1's off the line with the Virago, but they catch me halfway across the intersection & thats the last I see of them. Both are stock, only mods are different mirrors & smaller turn signals on both bikes.

Hello! Just joined this site to try and find some trails for my new DR-Z. I have an 07 DR-Z400SM, black.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k298/redhotz28/motard001.jpg
Before the motard, I had a CBR929RR that will always be my baby in my head. Sold it to get the tard because it was too big for the track I go to, and too fun to pin the throttle. Don't ya know, the DR-Z is worse. Not speed, but the wheels just don't want to stay on the ground!

Mods are limited because I'm still in college, but currently I have
DRC Edge tail light
Zeta Handguards
Dynojet kit
3X3 mod
and most importantly-
$20k + in medical bills from dumping it in Rist canyon.
If any of you are up for a leisurely ride sometime near Ft. Collins let me know!

2001 Triumph Thunderbird. Bought it with 1958 miles on the clock in March of '05. Currently has around 25,500. Only things I added were the backrest/6 pack rack, Centerstand, cheapo saddle bags from my old bike, swapped out the Thunderbird seat for one from Legend, replaced the "mini-ape hanger" bars for a flatter, "Euro" bar, and put on the National Cycle Street Shield EX windshield.

UPDATE: Here it is, before the new bar and the new shield, at Independence Pass in 2005:

Uhh...how do we add a picture? I don't see an 'attachment' menu...

You will need to host is somewhere else and then use the url tags to link to it here. There is an icon at the top of the posting window that will give you the url tags. It looks like a yellowish picture of a mountain scene. It will open a window and you can put your link in there, click OK, and it will show up in your post.

...

Really? Back in the late 70ís, I had a jap bike, it sucked as far as handling went. I had a Triumph that put the jap bike to shame as far as handling went. Then I rode a Ducati and it put the Brit bike to shame as far as handling went.

Now go the other way as far as reliable, the jap bike was best, then the Brit, then the Italian.

But that was a long time ago. So are the jap bikes doing better now as far as handling goes? Last year bike I owned was a 79. Sold it in 2002.

Comparing an older ducati to a newer jap bike is not a fair comparison at all. The newer jap bikes will run circles around them without much effort. The newer ducatis arent much different but the performance gaps have closed alot...a base 1098 will run you 15K...where as a brand new jap liter bike will run you about 10K and will run circles around them just about everywhere...especially the new CBR1000RR.

If i had money to throw around, id love to have a ducati...but for a more budget minded person who wants just as much bike for alot less, ill buy jap...it may not be italian, but at least my $hit wont be broken down on the side of the road! :flipoff2:

Thats about right if its a stocker...you might get a few more MPH out of it but not much. I had my 600RR up to a GPS'ed 160(173 indicated) but i had a bit of performance work done to mine...at sea level, it would pick up about 5-7 MPH easily.

I know this bike will do more, but a van got in my way :)
The Honda isn't stock. I have a full Yosh RS-5 SS/Ti race exhaust and PowerCommanderIII on it.

The Ducati handled nice, but the Honda is better. The Duc god more looks and comments, but it just wasn't worth it for me with the PITA maintenance, cost of parts, and the (un)reliablity. I chose the Honda because of the reliablity. And it isn't a slouch either :D To give the Duc some credit though, it DOES have over 38,000 miles on it. For an '01 that's not too shabby.

If I had a whole load of cash burning a hole in my pocket, I'd have me a 1098 already. They are the sweetest looking bikes out there, but just waaaay pricey.

That's a sweet Fizzer! I saw that on the first page and then noticed the date, so I figured I wouldn't see an update... and there it is! I just picked up a fizzer (600) for the wife, did the naked look, too, and hope to go with the R1 tail eventually, but it looked like it took a bit of modding to pull off. How about the tank, though? I don't suppose it was a bolt-on job?

As for me, I ride a 98 TL1000R w/ a few basic mods. I'll have pics of it and the fizzer up soon...

These are our "at home bikes"

And this is the set we travel on! They are currently in San Francisco. We fly out, ride these bikes to a new destination, store them and fly home. Repeating the process about every 3 months.

Bought it from a guy I work with.

He bought it for his nephew in 05, the nephew laid it down in the first week (hence minor scratches on the right side - visible in the big picture).

In 06 he bought a ZX14 and never touched this one again. The gas in it was literally 6 years old. VARNISH!!!!

The funny thing... my older brother got the 06 ZX14 from him with ~750 miles on it. In a week it had ~1500, and then I borrowed it for this summer while my truck was down with injector work, and it now has ~3500.

The GSXR will get miles fast. I love ridding.

The funny thing about the guy I got it from, he has a standing order with Colorado Power Sports in Boulder that if anything comes in that is faster in a straight line than the bike he has, he will buy it for cash that day.

Lets just say he likes going fast.

The first day he had the ZX14 in 06, he got pulled over on 93 doing 140. When the officer in charge heard what kind of bike, he drove out and told him that if he could ride the bike he would let him go with a warning. Lets just say he let the officer in charge take a ride...
