The red blazer broke the passenger side steering arm off the knuckle. The PO of that axle had welded the steering arm in place instead of drilling and tapping. The trail fix was to reweld the steering arm in place. The problem was we had to send a truck back to the trailhead to get the welding rods and welding hood I had in my towrig. After he returned we connected 3 batteries together in series and I welded the steering arm back in place. The welds weren't pretty but they held and got him off the trail.

They definately held!!! I drove it 180 miles back to the house and it handled as well as it ever did. Now to look for knuckles and arms. We can rebuild it, somebody has the technology. I'll be back!!!:)

Hoss is a valuable guy to have along!!!

Hoss is THE Man. That was a great run. Randy has a much greater appreciation for Jeeps after seeing all us fullsizers eating rocks and trees all day, I'm sure.

I always think it's cool when you can have a major break like 70jimmy did, and still drive it home, almost a couple hundred miles at that.

Randy you're always welcome to ride along with us, you're one cool jeep dude!:D

You did good for a Jeep. :D No, seriously though I had a great time and it was fun. You are welcome to wheel with us fullsizers anytime. It if fun to watch rigs other then the trail barges get after it since you have to use different lines and stuff.
