I'd like to see a video of that rollover. Hope they win it all. It's really cool that two guys who were early members of Colo4x4 have made it that far.

What a great event!!!
Rockstomper Racing finished 13th out of 35 in the Unlimited class after a slightly off kilter start. We timed out on our first course - which only a handful of the the moon buggies were able to complete - and on our second course we had a mechanical failure 6 minutes into the course. It was very frustrating but Shawn Pagan and Scott Ellinger came back strong on our last two courses on Saturday, and did an AWESOME job on Sunday.

The Rockstomper Racing buggy had lots of comments on the Sway-A-Way 2"air bumps, and they worked like a dream! On any verticle climb the rebound on a bounce was almost nill. The compression and absorbtion of a hard hit helped keep the tires in contact with the rocks, and it definately payed off on A3, which was a huge verticle climb.

The air bumps also helped on the downs with the hard impacts.

Lil' Rich created some insane courses in Globe. Absolutely amazing some of the lines he decides that are going to be gates.

Rick Dermo & Rick Gersch of PHH racing 3-wheeled it on Saturday after breaking as they exited their first course. Rock Racing at its finest.

Weston Blackie put on a show on B3. He ended up cracking/breaking the oil pan in the process, but the crowd was going wild!

Brian Ellinger/Dave Cole ran in the Stock Modified class. It was an interesting weekend for them: Engine swap prior to tech on Friday....and a series of mishaps followed putting them in last place in their class. But they had a great time regardless!!

Brian was'nt the only one that had problems all weekend. We unloaded the buggy and started to tech when a gasket in the c4 blew out. We worked untill 4:30 am saturday morning putting it back togethter. We drew out first on A4 where we scored a -28 but broke while exiting the course. We pulled the axel and found it to be intacked so we asumed the ARB side gear broke, so we rocked raced the rest of the day finishing all courses. We had a lack of good brakes all day. Later that night we discovered that the ARb was ok but the new axel was built 3/4 of an inch to short and we sheered off a 1/4 inch of splines. The new brake line we installed earlyer in the week had a flaw in the compresion fitting that you could'nt see with the naked eye. The following day on B1 we broke the left front axel which was fatigue from the abuse due to three wheeling it. It took us only 10 minutes to change out the axel and get back to the courses where we finished the last two with out a miss hap. The week end wasnt a total lost, Rick Gersch said we finished just a head of a hard charging Rockstomper team. It seams like Scott and I are always battling it out at the comps.
Great job Scott and Shawn.:D

Weston broke the oil pan on his LS1 while trying to climb B3. We hope to see them at the Rock races this week end along with the Wells brothers,Jt, crash and all the other Coloradians.

Now that's a very PC response. The whole " It takes a village" philosophy.

So? I like the guys we compete against and with... it's a blast. I don't look at it as a "it takes a village" but rather as "why not help when you can".

Why in the hell didn't you tell him there was a cone there. The funny thing is he always stays so calm, guess that's what happens when that is roll number... aww hell i can't count that high. You need to come over this weekend and help me figure out my front suspension. I have your plasma cutter and will hold it for ransom.

It would appear that eventually he figured out that there was a cone there on his own...!
Great pics, looks like good times.

The funy part is we never even knew we took that cone! It landed on the wheels and we had about 30 seconds to get done. Brad drove that thing like Robbie Gordon in a race for the win at the Baja! He was on it had and I'm sure he ran it well into the red. We finished with 1 second left!

Holding my plasma cutter hostage huh? Just like I held your Nova hostage years back?:D

I'll try and get by this weekend, give me a call!
