Great trail ride today! We met up with SpringsZJ (Jordan - ZJ), zoomurai (Troy - Samuri), Jeepinwelch (Jody) and her husband Dave(CJ-5) along with their friend Chris (White YJ) . We met up at the HomeDepot on Southgate at 9am and waited for about 30 minutes but no one else showed?so off to the trail.

Unfortunetly Troy had some overheating/mechanical issues on the way up and decided to turn around and head back to town. Hope all is well and you made it home okay?post up and let us know.

Although we got off to a bumpy start the ride was fairly uneventful, until Dave's clutch linkage gave him a little trouble in the middle of one rocky section, a quick tug off the rocks with his winch and he had it fixed in no time flat. Their CJ is SWEET!

The weather cooperated although there were the occasional snowflakes but nothing major. There?s still a lot of snow and a lot of ice on the trail but it wasn?t so bad that we had to stop and turn around. There were a few off-camber areas that were real slick and required a bit of uphill steering but everyone made it through without any difficulty.

We did find a little bit of mud to play in as well.

My family and I had a blast today and really enjoyed wheeling with such a great group of people. We hope to do it again in the near future

I planned on meetng you guys but I was running late at 0915 so I went straight to the beginning of the dirt road, aired down and waited for about 15 minutes. Then went to the trail and stopped right after the first obstical for a while then headed to the end. Guess I was ahead of you, was finished by noon.

How did you like the red durango buried on the way down the trail back to Frosty park?

Maybe I'll catch you guys next time.

Yeah, you were quite a ways ahead of us. We didn't see anyone else on the trail, just a few guys shooting at the start of the trail and a few rigs at the mud hole.

Sorry we missed you.

I was really surprised to see the Durango there, and still in one piece. One of the guys at the mud hole said it has been there for about a week.

made it home without incodent. I twisted the short t-case mount and blew the urathane bushing. Should be an easy fix. Hope to have the overheating cured by next trip. Had a great time anyway, looking forward to going again soon.P.S. troy is zoomurai, not ZukGuy. just don't want anybody getting confused

On second thought, Dave and Jody might have introduced Dave as "Steve". You know... bringing their freaky role playing out into public view ;)

No she said Dave, and I met them both at the last M&G here. I just had my head firmly planted in my own little shaddy spot....

Now you've done it! We can't play that game anymore!
Frank, we had a great time wheeling with you guys. Hopefully with me driving this coming weekend it will be less eventful. $10.00 at the car wash and there's still mud everywhere. Since the mud exploded through the shifter boot and coated the inside of the jeep we are still trying to figure out how to clean it all up. That mud is some nasty, smelly goo. In all it was a great way to start the season!:D

Frank, it's too bad I couldn't make it up there like I had planned. I wanted my bumpstops to be in by at latest Saturday (springs get really inverted right now) but that just didn't happen. It looks like a great time, I'll definitely make the next one!

Hey Frank, nice pics. I saw you at On The Border restaurant last week...parked right in front of your XJ, but I was on the other side of the building when I saw you walk by. I am sure I will see you around this spring/summer.

Aw damn, you had to go and do the 3 wheel thing :poke: I know, I've been slacking. Spending too much time at work and school and not enough in the garage. I even let the tags expire :o It's kinda hard to get an e test when it's not drivable. I guess this will give me plenty of time to fix the motor mount bolt that's been missing for the last, oh, 5 years???

Frank Z

Never let it be said that I won't help out a fellow wheeler.....
What size bolt do you need?:D

ToyRunner1
April 3rd, 2006, 07:48 AM
LOL. I have no idea. I don't even know if it fell out, or broke. I need to pull the alt bracket and MM from that side to look at the block.

I'm glad you got home safe! That wheel wobble has me concerned. It made me sick to my stomach just watching it. I hope you're planning on working on that too.
