In the Welcome (http://www.colorado4x4.org/vbb/showthread.php?t=54337) post I described the intent of this forum as follows:

this is the place for competition-related topics and custom fabrication. This is not your everyday tech forum and you can consider this the "advanced" or pro-level section of CO4x4.
...
Good custom fab (no ghetto fab) and competition info is what this forum is about.

CompetitionA surprising number of competitors call the Rocky Mountains home. This forum exists to promote communication between teams and shed some light on the sport. Upcoming events, discussion and pics from past events, hints or sneak-peeks of the newest comp buggy design, etc. This is CO4x4's home for competition-related info

Custom FabricationIf you've ever taken a close look at one of the top competition rigs you'll know exactly what we're looking for. Outstanding custom fabrication and competition go hand in hand. You will not see ghetto-fabulous rigs making waves and headlines in the competition circuit or getting features in magazines and tv shows. This is the place to showcase outstanding craftsmanship and the tools of the trade. Let's see what the pro's use to get the job done.

This is not the "Intro to Fabrication 101" forum. If you made something yourself I'm sure you're very proud of it, and yes it can be considered "custom fabrication", but we are looking specifically for good custom fabrication. The emphasis in Pro Shop refers specifically to professional-quality craftsmanship. If you can look at your work and imagine seeing it featured in a magazine or showered with compliments at an offroad show, then that's the level of craftsmanship we're looking for here. If you're just getting started then this is the place to look for prime examples of high-quality work, and the Gen4x4 (http://www.colorado4x4.org/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=11) forum is the place to ask "introduction to fab" style questions. If your work is deemed "not worth" of this forum and you choose to be offended instead of inspired, that's your decision. The custom fabrication aspect of this forum is meant to inspire as well as educate.

I moved a few general fabrication threads in here just to help get the forum rolling and this was a mistake. It got the forum rolling, but unfortunately it started rolling in the wrong direction. Home-brew tools, elementary components, and bad photos of rigs long gone are not what we're looking for here. If these posts continue to appear we'll switch to a moderated format where new topics must be approved before they appear. I prefer the instantaneous generation of posts because moderators are not always online and posts in moderated forums can take hours before they are approved.

If you have any questions about the intent of this forum, don't hesitate to ask. If you're the kind of person who takes criticism personally, then I would suggest not posting in this forum.

I love looking at new build ups. They are great for ideas. The same thing is happening in Pirate. To many things in one forum you get lost looking. What about making a Build-Up room? For nothing other than showing off any build. People are always asking the builder questions and there are usually replies. It may solve your problems and keep everyday wheelers out of here. Just my $.02:beer:

I think this is what the "readers rigs" sections is for.
