View Full Version : Where do Trail Talk Posts Go?

If you have a question or comment about a trail, which forum section does it go in? I always put them in Staging Area because I can't find a better section. Trip Reports is the only other section in "Trail Talk" but it definitely wouldn't go in there.

Is there any way we could get another section just to talk about trails? I'm not talking about Land Use Issues -- more like where to ask about winter trails and how difficult trails are, as well as putting up info about trails (like if a mud bog is closed or if a tree is blocking a trail, etc.).

If we can't get that section, where do these types of posts go?

Monica, if you put it in the Staging Area it won't last because that forum auto-deletes old threads. I moved this to the Suggestion Box since it makes a suggestion for a new forum. For now, I'd post that kind of thread in the Gen 4x4 forum.

Currently Gen4x4 works well for inquiring about trail conditions, and any trail maintenance issue should be posted in Land Use.

Alternatively, perhaps we can think of a better name than "Land Use Issues" to invite more trail-specific discussion within that forum. Maybe "Land Use" should actually be called "Trail Talk" where all aspects of trail health can be discussed? Retain the current closures & maintenance discussions but add current conditions and level of difficulty type discussions?

Done, the Land Use Issues forum is now the Trail Talk forum. As mentioned above, this is the place to discuss anything related to trail health and conditions.
