Fun run today guys! This was my first real time doin any kind of wheelin in the snow...what a blast!! Makes me REALLY wish we made it out with you guys last weekend. Im sure there will be more snow bashes in the coming winter months though.

I think its time for a new digital camera or maybe just a new battery...i charged my battery last night and only managed to get 3 pictures before my battery crapped out...might have been cuz it was so cold though. Either way, heres a few...

Really happy with the way the new lift/tires/locked rear worked out though...im still thinkin SERIOUSLY about one of Bobs long arm setups...that much lift with short control arms made for one heck of a choppy ride over those small little rocky sections...probably didnt help not having the tires aired down too though...we'll find out more as the suspension settles in. Next up in line is gears though...holy crap that thing is a DOG with the stock 3.07's and 33's. On the way out there i couldnt get out of 3rd gear between the geras, tires and fighing the wind! I need to get some fender flares back on there too...you should see all the rocks/pebbles/sand on my roof and hood!

Anywho...nice to FINALLY meet ya Bob! We'll all have to get together and do this again sometime real soon! :D

Yeah I got stuck on the way through Will. This was after I pulled Bob out. Daen made it through un-assisted the first time but he and Bob got stuck coming back. I did make it back accross un-assisted. You still would have gotten stuck Will :D It was wierd snow there, the drivers side of the drift was rock hard but the passenger side was soft. There wasn't too much snow and most of the day was in 2-wheel drive, but it was fun. I was able to just cruise through the bumbs out there like it was nothing.

Shawn: Sorry man, it wasn't anything too special. The school bus is so huge for some simple whelling like this.

I got a few (3) pictures as well but is was too cold to get out and just take pictures. The only time I got out was to tug or be tugged basically.

Jeff: We'll find deeper snow later in the season :D it is so much fun.

No action shots?

I tried, but the camera was dying by the time we found anything deep. Deeper snow will be alot of fun...i need to get busy on a front bumper of some sort with some recovery points...having just the one in the rear kinda sucks if ya get stuck ya know! Bumper, gears, SYE, long arms, Tera-low kit....see a sickness developing here?? :D

Running start? Dean had it pinned so hard to the floor before hitting that big drift he left a dent in the floorboard. :D

Good to meet you to Jeff and the misses, BTW we all have lists of todos. ARB for the front is high on my wish list, then some bigger meats.

Pozer, not a run for you buddy. We're not worthy. :flipoff2: Besides we were out there less time than it would have taken you to drive up and back. I'll get you out in the snow soon. ;)

Will...

I was the littlest Jeep in the bunch but I had fun. I was hoping for more snow than what we had. More snow means less bumps. Those Vedawoo bumps are a pain.

Ya know, Bob did some measuring of my XJ... mine is the same height as his in the rear, but about 1.5 inches shorter in the front. I think I need ACOS to even it out, and so I can stuff his long arm kit underneath :D He he he

Matt told me Bob's little XJ rides better now than mine does  But at least mine doesn't dog on hills!

Okay, I'll stop talking smack before I get smacked :D

Dont encourage her! :P

I have enough trouble keeping my junk running as it is...dont need ANOTHER vehicle that i must upgrade/replace parts! :o I promised to let her drive more though if she will slow the heck down...she drove it for the first time a couple months ago at Veadawoo. For the life of me, i couldnt get the whole concept of rocks = go slow in her head and i dont think she believes in 4LO...but then, with my tires and gearing, its more like a 4 Medium! :D

Don't worry, I won't. :innocent: YEAH RIGHT!!! Like I'd pass up a chance to empower another chick to dive right into the off-roading scene at the expense of her husband's checkbook and sanity. Pu-leaze!

:crybaby: Hurry up and make your next rank so you can afford her new habit! :D

Quote from Missy Graham: "If it breaks, it just means it needed to be replaced with something stronger!" He he he. But I do agree with you, no need to be purposefully TRYING to break parts. And, speed over bumps and rocks is doing just that.

Oh its more than just a money thing...ive already gotten the "youve worked on the jeep every night for the past week...." song and dance :P I told her though, if she wants to trade in her car, ill help her with a Jeep. Not that i need another one to work on or anything!

I put on Staff in June and were tossing around the idea of buying a house so any more major purchases are on hold for a while...need to work on payin off some bills before then! :D

i think she needs to help work on the jeep. julia helps on mine all the time just to be together (aahhhh) and she is itchin' to build her own to wheel too. and not build up her new GC, she wants an additional trailer queen. so then we'd have to get a bigger trailer to.oh, by the way she wants it to be PINK.

Jeff - Believe me, there's nothing better than having a wife seriously into wheeling. Easier to get upgrades, and go on runs. Yeah, when they want/get their own rig, it's a battle of who gets what mod first/when. Then, if you get real lucky like I did, your wife will develop the 'If it broke, then it wasn't strong enough, and needs to be upgraded' way of thinking. I love her!

If I'm not out helping Matt (not just watching) when he does the same thing, I whine and complain too :D It's like husbands have a love affair... with a Jeep, because they spent so much time giving it TLC!

But like Dean said, get her out there helping you, it makes her feel valuable, wanted, needed, etc, etc.... not to mention it is time spent together. I know I love knowing so much about Jeeps and vehicles in general. I feel knowledgable about things most women have never even heard of. And... if you ever go deployed, and something happens to one of the vehicles, you can be sure your wife won't be scammed by some mechanic. She'll know the right questions to ask and she'll understand the mumbo jumbo mechanics blurt out.

A happy wife is a happy wheeling husband!

Yes but she's got a lead foot!!! She'd break anything that way! Okay, maybe not Unimog axles. :D

There are about 5 houses for sale on our block. Bob lives right by us too, and it's on Dean's way to the meeting spot for trail runs. It's a nice central location. We can start to take over the block with Jeeps. :D
