All of Crane's covers will feature the same Chromoly steel and lipless design, along with its LIFETIME WARRANTY, but now with some great improvements. All bolt locations are now CNC milled and spot faced for a precision fit. All covers now have a fully machined mounting surface for improved sealing over the first generation covers.

Black silicone gasket maker is also now included, but Lube Lockers, Silcone Gaskets and paper gaskets can all be used with great results because of the new machined mounting surface. The old button head bolts that were prone to loosening and stripping have now been replaced with new 12 point shoulder bolts.

So here is the deal -

D44 front and rear 2 pack - $319.99 + free shipping
D44 + D30 2 pack - $319.99 + free shipping

Single D44 - $171 + free shipping
Single D30 - $162 + free shipping

Add Lubelocker gaskets for $16.99 per cover, free shipping also included

To place your order send me a PM or give us a call 303-907-6303, we do take paypal directly from our website and credit cards over the phone.

Sweet, new products, Crane seems to have constant evolution and ideas. I've seen the new stuff and ther is lots of nice machine work on them. However to be fair, I don't think they ever went "out of business".

 :D

Will there be any for the 8.8 any time soon?

jeff@rokmen
December 3rd, 2005, 03:20 PM
We dont have an exact date for the 8.8 yet, Crane is starting with the D44, then D30...then onto the rest. D44's are being machined now, the D30 should be available in a couple weeks, and then everything else falls in after that.

As soon as we have more info we will post it up, but for now the D44 and D30 are the only one's with solid dates.

thanks everyone for the interest

So someone can grab you piece parts, then let them sit in their truck for 4 months or until they bring them to your house?

Get these little things out of my cup holder!!! :flipoff2:

PS, can't you just go spend $3 on bolts? Please avoid the "blah blah, shouldn't have to comment" on this. It's just my .02 of what i would do. :D

that's not the case ... regular bolts' heads are too big to fit in the cavity.
Got a reply this morning already from Chris at Crane and the new bolts fit onto the old design cover :D

We are working with Chris on the bolts, when I have more info I will let everyone know. The new bolt heads are smaller than a standard hex 6 point so they must be used with the new cover due to the new spotfacing, standard hex wont work...this may change but not sure yet.

Dana 60 covers are in the plans but I dont have an exact date as to when they will be available. D44 and D30 are the first to be done, then after that its all the rest, no finalized dates yet, but I would imagine a month or two. Again, when I have more info I will make sure everyone knows.

thanks everyone for the interest, now who needs D44 and D30 covers? :)

 They fit in both my D30 and D44. Maybe there was a design change or it is model specific? I don't think the stock bolts would fit though, with larger heads.

a normal hex head bolt will fit in the old covers as the bolt head seating surface was larger, the new covers are made differently and are now spotfaced, creating a smaller seating surface for the bolt head. On the old covers the bolt holes and mounting surface were cast into the cover, this is no longer the case as they are now milled into the cover (more precise).

If anyone has any more questions you can always PM me and I would be more than happy to clarify.

The replacement bolts have a shoulder on them to keep the cover from moving around.
They're an odd size,5/16th 12 point or something, but they work.

First hand experience.... the new bolts cure the old problems.

How do i take care of this because i'm SO FAWKING TIRED of re tightening my bolts after every damn trip. I"d get one for the rear if i could take care of the problem up front, but i can't afford to have 2 leaky diffs

Otherwise i've been very pleased with it, i've beat the piss out of it over and over with the only issue being the constant stream of gear oil pouring out the bottom  Also anyword on an 8.8 cover and an 8.8/30 combo, my girl could use that :D

Just talked to Crane this morning, they are a little behind, the machining on the D44 and D30 covers is being finished up today and tomorrow. I am meeting with Chris later in the week to help pack up the current orders and get them out.

Is there a buy-back program for the old covers that leak like a sieve?

I was skeptical when Chris told me a few bolts would fix the leaking problem of the old covers. After 2 weeks I have not had a single drop leak. Like on the previous bolts, I used some locktite but this time I didn?t redo the gasket?just replaced the bolts. Again, don?t know how these would have made the difference but frankly I don?t care because it doesn?t leak anymore. Free replacement and hand delivered by Crane?big thumbs up!!! Thanks!
