Went Sunday with a group of people (mostly friends of friends) to run lefthand and carnage yesterday. Group consisted of a couple CJs, a YJ, a TJ, an LJ, a FJ40 and my XJ. Lefthand was more of a shakedown for a couple newly finished rigs.

Lefthand was dry and a piece o cake. Even the unlocked CJ and TJ did fine.

Carnage was icy. Two rigs (the TJ and LJ) parked and decided not to try it. We got up to just before the slab when the owners of the FJ40 decided to see what it looked like on its top. No one was hurt. The key fell out and became lost during the rollover, so the motor was running upside down for awhile. Took about an hour to flip it back over and pick all the crap that fell out. It fired up and drove out, fortunately to the trailer it arrived on.

Crunched it up pretty well. Right side, windsheild and hood were messed up. Pretty nice truck, had a 350 LT1, arbs front and back, cage, four point harnesses, etc. From what I understand, they bought the thing already built about 2 months ago and this was one of the first trips out.

So..... I didn't see the top of Carnage. Guess I will have to go again sometime. :D

Exactly, if you don't have pics, it DIDN"T HAPPEN!!! There should be a rule in the trip reports forum, DON"T POST IF YOU DON"T HAVE PICS :flipoff2:

I think I started that about 2 years ago when you were always telling me stories about your trips. I think I busted your balls for a year straight before you finally ponied up and purchased a camera.....and now you're busting other people's balls. I love it. :P

Clod, you really need some pics man.....:D

I can't believe it went over there!

Although, after watching the way he drove through the squeeze, I can't say that I'm completely surprised. :P

I couldn't get up the squeeze late Friday night because it was covered in ice, but damn I just turned back (solo). I think if I rammed through like that I would go to wheelin hell. That can be a pretty hairy spot for an inexperienced driver, glad no one was hurt.

Yeah, no one was hurt, but I am sure her neck was sore the next day. I was expecting it to be icy, but parts were more like a skating rink.

I need to fab some kitty litter spreaders to hang on the front bumper for the next time. :D

you ain't kiddin'. last time I went through there by myself I winched up it. I could feel myself going over and couldn't go forward or back with out sliding farther down that big rock.

I walked about 4 rig's through it last weekend. It was completely dry and the short jeeps had no issues. I was walking them around the big root, not over it like some of the others took. I can see how soon the creek will be the only way up through there if a retaining wall or something isnt built.

That spot is tricky. There is a rock on the left side, that wants to tip you to the right. Then there is a rock on the right side, that if you aren't to the left of will tip you over as well. In the dry, even with my longer wheel base, I made sure I was lined up straight before going down. Glad no one was hurt.
