-Range Rover with 3 inch lift
$30,000
-Land Rover used to pull Range Rover
$20,000
-Tow straps and D ring
$40
-Spotting my Girl Friend throught the same section in her 1996 XJ (open/open 32's) with out having to even back up and correct once.
PRICELESS
Had a good day up on lefthand. Met some guys for the Rover club. Watched a Range Rover nearly roller over backward (front drive side tire about 4ft in the air and the pass rear in loss sand (and spinning the tire forward&-]) before they strapped it up and yanked the shit out of it.
Then they got out the safest tool ever ;-) (hi-lift) to reseat a coil spring a had the base slide in the sand and pushed the passanger door in about 2in and take paint with it While they hit the base with a sludge hammer to move it back in.
Great guys just a little scary at times.
Quotes of the day:
"Man, she just made that look easy why did it take me 45 mins and a strap."
"you think that will fit in that little hole"
"your tire has a problem" in reguards to it flexing around a rock.
"just hook those tow straps tgether with a D-link":-(

there is some guy who just moved into my apt. complex from Penn, hes driving a newer Rover. The best part is the (big) sticker on the side window that says "Don't follow me, you wont make it" ... I really want to ask him to come along on a trip just to see if he'd be ready to take that sticker off afterwords!!!

The Blue XJ has procomp front with 4.5 rough country springs and the backs are 4" Rancho with a 1" shackle.
The Black one has rough country 4.5 all the way around with full packs in the back no blocks I have had it on there for 2 years now and for the price it has served me well.

I love you guys. You guys rip on Rover drivers for not wheeling. Then you rip on them for wheeling? Sorry that someone can afford a Rover and wheel it. I'm the JPGuy and I work for Land Rover and I don't talk that much shit.

The only time I rip on Rover owners is when they advertise (i.e. big ass sticker)/ Brag about how great of an off road vehicle they own. But the most off-roading they do is pull into their drive way!

I saw a really nicely built one the other morning driving thru longmont at around 5:30 a.m. It was yellow, had more stickers on the side than an Asscar, I mean Nascar, car, a snorkel, etc. Really a nice looking (except for the GIANT stickers all over it) rig.

When the whole vehicle is put together for less then $2k and still performs great whats a name?? And the "crappy Jeeps" just got back from a week wheeling in moab and drove 90 mph all the way back without any problems. College students on a budget. Also the "crap" jeeps made that rover look stilly so what would you call a rover??

Hey jjeepcherokeer,
I will go head the head with your blue XJ anyday on any trail you wish. I drive a range rover with a 3 inch lift that has seen many trails in its past. bring it on..... focus on driver skills more than brand bashing.......

The Blue XJ is my girlfriends vehicle so I can't speak for her but I am always up to play with mine. It's all rough "crap" lift though.

Likely her husband owns this: www.rovertracks.com.
Surely you guys are joking about all Range Rovers??? Although I do agree about stickers that say "Don't follow me you won't make it". I don't want the kind of confrontation that a sticker like that will bring.

I have the obligatory "This Jeep isn't an SUV, your SUV isn't a Jeep", and have actually had people flip me off just after I put it on. WTF? It doesn't say mine is better than yours, or anything like it. You (person who flipped me off) should be happy with your purchase, right? You should be saying to yourself, "Damn right it's not a Jeep!".

I do!! I like the sticker by the way. My bronco gets dubbed a Jeep all the time and I want to just  , but I politely say, it's a B-R-O-N-C-O.

I had one experience wheeling with Rover types. They had broken down and their group had left them on Spring Creek. I was wheeling a POS '89 XJ at the time. One Rover was red and the broken one was white. The guy in the white one was extremely cool. In fact I saw him last summer on Holy Cross and we spoke. The guy in the red one was a real a$$hat! He had nothing good to say about anyone elses vehicles and constantly bragged on his great articulation-which wasn't that great. Sometimes people are cool, sometimes people are dicks. I really don't think it matters what they drive.
Cheers  Let's go wheeling together!
