Had a great time and it was great meeting every one. The quarry was a blast! I'd never been there before so I really enjoyed the entire trip.

I was only 4 hours late for work!

hehehe....

Anyone have any pics?

Well I guess I get to do the more indepth trip report, Jeff you are slacking :D. We had 10 rigs on this trip and it was a really good group of people. Those that were there was Jeffro600, Wild Hare, daposer, Jtw2, Captain and his cousin, Chvtrk49, SilverstoneXJ, XJade94 and me, and lastly Barry. We had rain on the way to the trail head, then it stopped while we aired down and disco'ed (and backed off trailers). Once we started the trail, we had a few drizzles and it made the first obstical a little interesting. We meandered our way up the trail and the sky got clearer. There was playing around at the quarry and Wild Hare tried a crazy line that was so soft that he did was dig holes better then a back-hoe. Even SilverstoneXj with his open F/R XJ made it up the Quarry as well as the stock sami with only a locker in the rear. After the playing around and lunch, we decided to head on up the rest of the trail and to Crystal. We played a little on the way up and once we got nearer to the top, we got snowed on. Man was it a blast. XJade94 was excited at the ability of her XJ (seeing as I tried it last year in a TJ with only a 2" BB and got strapped 3 times and didn't make it to the top of Crystal) and now wants a locker. Nobody needed a strap at all on this trip and the only carnage was Captain's cousin lossing the bolt off of a rear shackle and daposer getting a big stick through the sidewall of his 37" MTR. We had fun laughing at the big "school bus" and it's killer Mustang engine, Deans Cow Bells, and Barry "vet techniques" for his dog. I hope to wheel with all of you in the future. It was a blast. Pics in a few min.

Just wanted to drop in & let you guys know I had a blast!

It was great to meet you all, and I had a great time. I'm a noob, but hopefully I'll have my Waggy up to the task soon, I can't wait to get some good rock rash on the beast.. It needs something other than rust.. :D

Thanks all!

(fyi, I was riding w/ Jeff in his "lowrider" red YJ)

Had a great time and was great to meet some new folks and hook up with others that I have wheeled with before. I check the tire this am to find 12 lbs of air in it, that means a total loss of air from fix til now was 1lb. Great job Dean...Tire is off, dismounted and ready to go back to discount in the am, I should be up and running by tues. :D great pics.

I just wanted to chime in. Julia and I had a blast. We always enjoy meeting new peolple and new rigs to get ideas from for the evolution of our rigs. I had just typed up a huge trip report and my internet crashed so I will start over when I get done cussing!!!!!!!!!!!!
dapozers scrambler is an awesome rig and Matt had forgotten to mention a lil' stick jumped out from the timbers and poked a hole in one of pozers sidewalls. He was not carrying a spare, so 7 plugs stopped the hemorrhage, and we were back to wheeling.
We are always amazed at the " never give up " attitude of the red suzuki. I can only amagine what he could do with "elevation" and tires.HaHa.
jtw2, my wife forgot it was you with the baby seal joke, I didn't remind her until we were on our way back home. You could have been later for work. I saved you man.
I am sure Gary took some awesome photos as well as did Matt, can't wait till they are all posted. Sorry I did not even turn my camera on this trip. I was having a blast.
This was our first trip to the moody/crystal area and the quarry was a blast. The line I took did not look as soft as it turned out to be and I have to say that this was the first time I had ever used my winch for myself, but you gotta try.
This was a pretty steady moving group for 11 vehicles at one time. I think we started with 9, and 2 joined us at the quarry.
We all chipped in with the "take out more than you bring in" philosophy. Again quite a bit of trash was left behind by others, but the trail is clean again. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK you guys. Nice to see everyone pitching in.
Enough of the rambling, I want to check out pix.
Later,
Dean

Yeah, ive been slackin...had dinner and crashed out early last night and have been playin with that stupid CB all morning. Think i got it handled though...took it back and got a MUCH nicer model. With a little tuning and tweaking and moving the antenna around a little bit, i think i got it working...at least, i HOPE! :D

Really had a fun time wheelin with you guys though...Kristy, Gary, Barry, Mary and everyone else's name that i forgot...was a real pleasure to meet you guys! As always, Melissa and I had a really good time. I too was really amazed at how well 10+ rigs moved along the trail...i was expecting a little more chaos but it went very smoothly! Like last time, i didnt get too many pics taken but will get them posted sometime this afternoon.

Thinkin im gettin the "go-ahead-and-blow-all-your-money" from the wifey so im gonna get my lift(RE 4.5 SuperFlex) and my tires(still debating on what 33's i want) ordered up here quick...the lack of ground clearance really bangs up the underside of my poor XJ but i think some more height and MUCH better tires will help tremendously...although, im still amazed at what a set of crappy tires and a front locker can acomplish!

Oh and Matt, if ya need any help installing that Aussie in the front of your TJ, drop me an email or give me a jingle on my cell...would be more than happy to give ya a hand.

Yeah, I had a blast. Nice to meet all of you! My cousin made it home OK, that c-clamp held his shackle together no problem. My theory is that he was TRYING to break something so he could upgrade. At least that's what my wife accuses me of sometimes. :D Not sure if you Wyoming guys saw it in the rear view, but we got an awesome lightning show on the way home. That quarry was fun, maybe next time though. After seeing the Sami do it, I am thinking it is a possibility! Pics are HERE. (http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=9AauGrlo3bv8g&notag=1)

Take him out and he'll get trained on it. To test their ability to handle being bounced around, go to vedawoo. They get bumped a lot there and you will know if he will get car sick. :)

Our black labs first trail was crystal moody and she did get sick once but didn't have much to eat that day so the mess wasn't bad and it came out with no problems. Ever since she has been a great dog for the trails. She tends to behave better up there than down here in the city.

Yes, its a well visited off-shoot on Moody Hill. The spur is mapped and no obvious attempts have been made to close it off and no signs are posted. From the looks of it and the surrounding rock, i beleive its an abandoned Mica mine.

Thanks, my theory is that if I take a LOT of pictures, some will come out good. I think the Sami is camera shy, though, just about every shot I took of it was blurry! If anyone wants higher quality versions of any of those just PM me with your email and I'll send what I have.

Cresso, while that quarry may not technically be trail, it is definitely not marked in any way. Also, on our way out, we drove right past two FS rangers. I would have hoped they'd have let us know if we were in an illegal spot.

Jeffro, that IS a cute dog! Need to keep my wife away from this thread...:D

Sweet... we must come visit the puppy some time. I had a black lab puppy back in the day, her name was Snickers and she was such a great dog. She was a smaller lab, slim and slender instead of the beefy and stocky ACK breed standard.

How big were the other litter mates and parents, do you know? Curious how big Dakota will get.

Bummer. Yeah, this is a great trail. Plus, I was surprised again how close it is - only 45 min from my place in Longmont. Schweet! Won't be able to run it again for a while, though. I don't think I have a free weekend until December, and I'm guessing it'll be closed by then. Then I'll be in Australia for a year. Think I can put a thread in the Staging Area for a May 2007 run? :D

Ummm...no. I'd like it to BE here when I get back. I actually think he'd drive a lot more conservatively if his YJ had any flex or traction. No, I'd prefer Austin drive it, plus it'll give you guys a laugh when you see his knees through the windshield...:D

oh hell yeah it's gonna rub. Sounds like I have baseball cards in the spokes when I turn corners! :D
