Met up with Flash Gordon (Shawn), his wife Jessica and a friend of theirs (Ben) on Sunday morning. I was with my wife and kids and one of my neighbors (Wade) in his XJ. The day started out rather foggy and I came darn close to a deer that darted out in front of me on the way up to the trail head.

Wade's XJ is mostly stock and his tires aren't really suited for anything really difficult so he parked it and road with Ben when things got to be too slick for him. Thanks for letting him ride with you Ben, it was greatly appreciated.

The trail was really crowded, which slowed us down quite a bit, but we all took it in stride. Shawn suffered a popped bead but had his spare on in record time. After getting through the roughest section I heard a tremendous amount of noise from the back of my XJ. Turns out my relatively new RE leaf springs lost half of the rear eye. This made for a lovely ride on the rest of the trail. Got it home without further problems.

Had a great time and really enjoyed the trail and the company.

Here's a few pics for ya...

Shawn?s XJ performs as good as it looks?

Ben?s YJ sounded like a tank after his exhaust pipe came loose, kinda cool in a loud sorta way?

The owner of the Liberty is the guy in the red shirt (forgot his name). He was with a group ahead of us. I give him credit for trying the trail in a stock Liberty?

Shawn got a little tippy, not really that bad though?

No, apparently he got hung up pretty good and had couldn't make anymore progress up the hill. He backed it down to the spot where I took the pick.

We did have a good time, hopefully Shawn will post a few more pics as well.

Hey, Chad here, the liberty owner. It did much better than I expected a stock rig would do. As you can see, I crushed that factory rock slider, and after getting off the mountain, I think my exhaust is knocking a heat sheild or a framepiece...

Good news is, I got lots of friends working at Faricy....she'll be on a lift this afternoon to inspect the damage....

Chad

p.s. - Lift kit is as good as here, along with bigger tires....

Chad-Good for you!
It's nice to see a Liberty out on the trail and out of the grocery store parking lot!
Hope everything turns out good up on the lift.

I had a great time on this run. This was my wife?s madden voyage. She didn't do too badly.
Only got a little nervous a few times :D

Frank, You have a nice looking XJ. Looking forward to wheeling with you again!
