Met up with Flash Gordon (Shawn), his wife Jessica and a friend of theirs (Ben) on Sunday morning. I was with my wife and kids and one of my neighbors (Wade) in his XJ. The day started out rather foggy and I came darn close to a deer that darted out in front of me on the way up to the trail head.
Wade's XJ is mostly stock and his tires aren't really suited for anything really difficult so he parked it and road with Ben when things got to be too slick for him. Thanks for letting him ride with you Ben, it was greatly appreciated.
The trail was really crowded, which slowed us down quite a bit, but we all took it in stride. Shawn suffered a popped bead but had his spare on in record time. After getting through the roughest section I heard a tremendous amount of noise from the back of my XJ. Turns out my relatively new RE leaf springs lost half of the rear eye. This made for a lovely ride on the rest of the trail. Got it home without further problems.
Had a great time and really enjoyed the trail and the company.
Here's a few pics for ya...

Shawn?s XJ performs as good as it looks?

Ben?s YJ sounded like a tank after his exhaust pipe came loose, kinda cool in a loud sorta way?

The owner of the Liberty is the guy in the red shirt (forgot his name). He was with a group ahead of us. I give him credit for trying the trail in a stock Liberty?

Shawn got a little tippy, not really that bad though?
