Went to Moab with a local club over Columbus Day weekend. Ran Cliff Hanger, Moab Rim (twice), Hell's Revenge, Poison Spider, Golden spike, and Gold Bar Rim. We Tried to run Upper Helldorado the first night we were there. The sun had just gone down, but we said what the hell. I got in the entrance and ended up on my front driveshaft. Thinking I could drive out of the situation, I eased on the throttle, BAM. Front drive shaft and no spare. Winched off the rock, pulled the shaft and went out the escape route. Very disappointing. Thanks to Moab Powertrain for the quick fix Sat. morning. No other carnage. Weather was perfect.
Sorry I didn't make it to your camp Wally.

I didn't think Hell's Gate was that bad. I ran it the first time no problem.. 33's and open f/r.

Not a hard technical trail, just some good pucker factor with this video in the back of my mind.

Did that green TJ make it up Escalader after dropping the LR tire in that hole? I see him at the top of it in the next pic, but I've never seen anyone make it up after getting into that hole and not backing out.
BTW, does anyone know the dude driving in that video? Was he ok? Looks like to me he wasn't watching his spotter and turned driver side way too much.

The green tj did make it up but only after backing up to get his passenger rear on the right wall. The idea with stock width is to pull in, back up (getting your passenger rear over), then driving out the left side. With a wider stance, you are able to pinch your tires until you start climbing, without dropping into the hole.
As far as the rolled tj goes.

I don't know the people. I've just seen the vid several times. I will say as a spotter, you need to make sure you are visible to the driver. I lost my spotter half way up.

DAMN...That video is intense! I must say, it looks to me like the guy was going WAY too fast in the first place...Rock CRAWLING is the sport right? He doesn't have time to react to his spotter going that quick. Just my opinion, that was pretty wild though. I assume everyone was ok?

Yeah she was Ok, I think she even finished her trip out. I read that her spotter rolled his red TJ as well, different obstacle.
