First time to Moab, great weather. We started out on Poison Spyder and then turned off on Golden Spike, then went down Golden Bar. Had one Jeep flop over but other than that all went well. Friday we went up Metal Masher. Had great fun even at widow maker, I fell over on my second try. Third try I had 4 guys hold the front down with a strap and I crawled right up. Later that night on Kane Creek my steering took a dump so I turned around. Before I got back to town my fuel injection started to die. Parked my rig and road then next day on Hells Revenge. Lost a u-joint and an axle on one jeep and the steering on another. Drove about half way through Prichett Canyon one Jeep in 3 wheel drive and the other verticaly challanged. Started to rain so we turned around and went back to town. Decided to beat the snow accross the mountains so I headed home. Moab can be brutal on equipment. We took the hard lines at every challenge. Going back next year. Widowmaker and I need to have another go-round!

sounds like a lot of damage. to do those trails a fairly built rig is needed...what are some specs on the vehicles that tagged along?

I have a CJ-7 with Tera 60's, 4.88's, D300, SM 465, multiport injected 350, 36" tires. With a big dent in the hood.
Darrell, CJ-7, 44 front, 70 rear, 5.38, D300, SM 465, carburated 360 37" tires
Clint, 89 YJ, HP 30 Warn axles, ARB 4.56, 9" rear W/Detroit, Carburated 4.0, 35" tires
Chad, CJ-5, 20 rear, 30 Front, carbed 258, 4.11, 35" tires.
We had 4 other guys show up on Friday. One of them had a new unlimited with only 800 miles on it. Kane Creek was not nice to the fender on it. An old CJ-7 with 44's and an injected 258, auto. Ugly but a great climber. A custom TJ that took the easy lines and a Toyota that wasn't built for the task. Except for the steering hoses and my steering column the only trail related problem we had was the Warn axle and u-joint. The ARB broke and caused the breakage on the YJ. My injection problem is a faulty pump. We'll put them back together better and tougher and go back next year. I was a little dissapointed in the Warn set up. 35's aren't that big and the spot they broke wasn't anything anyone would have been worried about. The ARB carrier split in half and then wouldn't dissengage. We were going down hill on a curve on Hell's Revenge when the u-joint broke and took out the outer shaft. It's kinda ironic that the CJ-5 has the least modifications and was the only rig that didn't have a mechanical failure of some sort. Even when he flopped it over it really didn't do that much damage.
