View Full Version : 21 Rd 10-1 for Val's B'day

Wheeled 21 Rd on Saturday with Val & Teron (along with Val's mom), Josh, Wally, Jeremy, Jeff (Hippie), Al24, TracYJ, Mike (Palisade Mike) and a few others. After being up sick all night before :barf: I was kinda out of it, but couldn't miss it either. I think the worst carnage was on Jeff's; he went home with one of my tie-down straps holding a control arm mount to his axle tube. :)
Sorry, I didn't take any pics either. I know Val and Wally took lots, so post em up guys!

Actually it was Mark who went home with a tie down holding his control arm on.
Which is a good thing as Jeff needs to drive his to work in a few hours.

Thanks for letting me tag along! I had a blast and never thought I could have gotten my X that far up the trail. Sorry I had to bail out early but Terry hadn't eaten and was getting hungry.
I did get some pics!

Thanks guys for running 21 Road with us!! Al, Jeff, and Mark - thanks for driving over from Denver!!!
I'm downloading the pics now! We had 13 rigs with us on 21 Rd!!! Big group, and we didn't get very far on the trail after 6 hours, but Josh, Jeremy, Wally and Teron gave us all great entertainment!
Best two quotes of the day:
Al24 riding shotgun with Wally down a nasty drop off: "oh sh!t, OH sh!t, OH SH!T".....yes, i have video!
Carrie,"I'm not following him any more, I'm following you." - "him" being Wally, "you" being Hippie. :spit:
I did my best to flop in the nasty mud puddle at the alcove, but chickened out because the brakes kept going to the floor and that icky black mud was not something I wanted to end up in. Of course Teron jumps in and finds the line and makes it up the obstacle...
Jeremy did a GREAT flop and ended up wedged between huge boulders. He threw it in reverse and drove out of it!!! It was awesome!
Josh managed to only put a few scratches on his baby blue paint job...until the way out he took this nasty line over a boulder and next thing we see is smoke - he drove out of it!
:bounce2: :bounce2: :bounce2: :bounce2: NICE DRIVING GUYS!!!:bounce2: :bounce2: :bounce2: :bounce2:
The BLM guys showed up and watched us for a while. Thanks for dropping by guys!!
Question of the weekend was....MATT - WHERE THE HECK WERE YOU??
And Wally - AWESOME job at pissing off my Aunt!!!

I don't remember saying any such thing.
Just the angle, it's not really flopped.

My favorite of the day was Jeremy backing down the line we though Wally was gonna endo off of:D .
I think it was Mark who pissed your aunt off ;) . Tell your folks thanks again for the hospitality.
I'm pretty sure we'll be back out in the near future - someone I know wants to run it
BTW - It was great meeting everyone.
Did anyone find out what broke on the 90:confused:

Question of the weekend was....MATT - WHERE THE HECK WERE YOU??
sorry guys... duty called at the office.
choices: super fun trail run with people I've been wanting to wheel with OR being responsible and sticking around to make sure I meet a deadline..
one is a good time for the weekend and the other pays my mortgage.
besides Valerie.. you knew where I was. I kept you informed all week! :)
Thanks again to Wally for the offer... definitely SUPER cool!
..... stupid mortgage.

Mark - I guess Teron and I are going to have to come help you with the fence just for pissing off Wanda! That was THE funniest thing! "ribbon lady" :spit:
....for those that don't know, my aunt is the nastiest, rudest person and is not welcome at my parents house. My uncle, on the other hand, is super cool and is unfortunately married to the wench.

I had a TOTAL blast up there, i think 13 rigs total started the day with us, which is by far the most i've ever seen at one time on that trail. It was slow going at first, then well, it became even slower going with that many people  however i am pretty sure everyone had a damn good time. A good show was put on by all who attended. If you're not having fun on 21 road then you just aren't into wheeling cause everyone from a rig on 42's to the explorer on 31's had a chance to take lines that pushed their rigs. I was even suprised to see my girlfriend carrie show up in her red YJ and take it all the way up to the alcove BY HERSELF  Here's a few pics from the day

Great pics guys! I guess I didn't realize how far over I was until seeing Val's pic above. It didn't feel bad from the driver's seat. ;) I've been watching Wally pull enough wheelies that I'm starting to get the hang of it. :spit: Kathy and I had a great time and it was fun to meet & wheel with members here I hadn't met before.
Billings Canyon next weekend Wally, Josh, Jeremy? I think I hear it calling me. ;)

No, the whole trail isn't as extreme as the pictures make it seem, we just take the stupid lines that others avoid.

Fixed it for ya :flipoff2: Seriously though, we had a TJ and YJ both on 35's with no lockers follow us all day as well as an ford exploder on 31's with no lockers make it just as far, you can make the trail as easy or hard as you would like, so the big boys got stupid and had fun while the little guys still had their chance to play as well :D

Wally, Hightimes and I have been talking about trying to get you to give us the grand 21 road tour... I'd really like to see for myself as well how Billings matches up with Carnage, BV.
Val glad you had a great B-Day, just got your return IM today... and I did nothing but sit around the house.

Nice thread, pics & driving CO folks! I didn't get the chance to come out to join you CO folks again this summer as I wanted to. :(
Perhaps as you folks' season draws to a virtual close, and our season begins to go all out, maybe you folks would like to join us out in Johnson Valley to run a few fun trails.
As Wally already knows - my door/home is always open if some of you CO folks wanna come out & enjoy things out here. :)
I'm REALLY looking forward to getting to do 21 Road & Billings again (along with other trails) as time permits. :)
