I love the cage and the PSC SRS. Can you tell me what you've done to so far in terms of a lift(4"?) and the plans for the axle's. I'm also interested in knowing if the rear seat will fit with the rear cage.

The SRS was already on it, it's ok... It's got 4" BDS springs, SUA, on it currently with a 2" body lift to clear the 37's. Front is a waggy D44, rear is a Currie HPD60. Those stay, all the current suspension is outta here. :) A rear seat will not fit in this particular cage as the cage is an intregal part of the chassis and will have the coilover mounts installed in it. The coilovers will extend up through the bed, there's also a prerunner themed spare tire mount going in back there to along with a full aluminum fuel cell we're building when we get to that part of the project.
For a Scrambler cage with a back seat mount in it check this one out:

Look's good but why the Halo up front??? and not like the Yellow CJ-8 with the down tube's?
The Halo's I looked in to don't hold up well in a roll... The down tube fold's or snap's... I'm no cage expert but I'm just wanting to know more about the design?

Nice work, Bob. How about that rear bumper? Doing anything like that for a 7? :hint:
BTW, I can drag my CJ up there anytime, we need to figure out a time you have an opening.

This statement doesn't make sense to me. If the down tubes fold or "snap" in a roll...what does that mean? The tube is essentially in the same location on both cages. The only difference between the two designs is where the weld(s) is/are located. If you're referring to a weld failing...that's another conversation.
Also it's important to realize that not every halo'esk cage has the same structural support. The location/design of the spreaders greatly impacts it's overall strength. We'd be happy to discuss cage design with you but doing so on the forum will most certainly regenerate many long cage threads already stored in this forum's archive. Give us a shout and we'll chat ;)

Austin,
I don't think there's anything stopping us from making one just like that for a CJ...it's the same as the Scram only shorter and there's plenty of room to make one shorter. What you see in this picture is an unfinished product. The finished one will have a little more bracing and attachment points to the frame.
We need to chat regardless!! We still need to get together and resolve that topic we've been discussing.

No problem, Matt. I figured it's not a biggie, just some design tweaks to make it fit a shorter rear of a CJ7.
Man, I'm starting to wish i had a CJ7? without the ass-end of the 8s

Is it a halo or side bars??? :D The yellow scram has a halo in it with our 3 strut shear panel design, look again.
The Halo's I looked in to don't hold up well in a roll...
Poor construction???
With our 3 strut shear panel it's not going anywhere

When was that Longboy? What does your rig look like? I want to see if I recognize you. I'm trying to put names to faces and all. Thanks for the compliments on the rig. It's still got some things to add before it is done (gears, lockers, cage) But it is definatly getting there. Bob is amazing.

Matt,
it was yesterday, along I70, then 76, then I25 north. I was in a stock WJ, just like everybody else on the road. You were following a lightly-modded XJ with the spare tire on the roof.
Anyway, we were headed home after camping on Monarch Pass...we wouldn't fit all of our junk in the CJ, so the WJ is the family truckster.

The slightly modified XJ was my wife's XJ. It is also our family truckster for camping :) You should have honked or something. Ah well. I'll see you again sometime I'm sure.

Is that Billy's rig Bob? I remember talking about someone's stretched '7 the other night at pozer's, but can't recall whose. Maybe I was talking to 'poze about it. Looks like Billy driving.
Let me know when you need another Scram 1/2 hardtop.;)
