What happened? On 8/3/01 our hosting service (host-all.com) developed major problems with their server and, adding insult to injury, they also lost all backup copies of this site  Of course this didn't come to light until after 4 days of downtime with no straight answers   What does this mean? It means we no longer recommend host-all as a hosting service  but more importantly it means we have to rebuild this site from scratch :( We've finally settled on a new home so please be patient while we rebuild Colorado4x4.org. You'll find that most features and sections have been disabled, however in time we'll have everything back to normal. We apologize for any inconvenience.

A hearty Thank You goes out to Rifraf! Between Rif and I, he was the only one that saved any pages locally! This not only helped preserve the look and feel of the site, but saved many many hours of rebuild time. :D

Also worth noting, our new servers should provide you with a faster and more reliable connection to this site. New and better resources means a new and better CO4x4! :D

Thanks for coming back!

Eric, who is hosting it now (if I may ask) ?

I run my Xterra Owners Club site with Dreamhost in California, and the performance is impressive.
The site runs UBB 6.05 and pushes about 750,000 pages, and 20GB a month to 2500 members.

Performance-wise, it screams compared to this board and it's 16 hops away. Colorado4x4.org is 14 hops from my computer, and there is a huge bottleneck when it hits the Sprintlink backbone.

If you need any help with tweaking the board (like losing that annoying new member number in 6.05) don't hesitate to contact me.

We're camped with Pirate4x4.com right now. Ping time for me is usually 70ms but for whatever reason right now it's more like 170ms. I also see a jump on the Sprint network... looks like about 40ms or so. Hopefully that clears up.

Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on that smilies/beer.gif
