** Edit: Scroll to the bottom for the latest news! **
We will soon be upgrading to UBB 6.3.0.1. One concern with this new version is its incorporation of avatars. You will need to make note of where your current avatar is stored so you can reference it after the upgrade. Simply edit your profile and write down the location of your avatar image. You can read about all of the changes since our current version (6.1.0.2) here:
Infopop support forum (http://community.infopop.net/2/OpenTopic?a=frm&s=729094322&f=5553010313)
ETA for the upgrade is sometime this holiday weekend. Sorry for the short notice.
Not all of the custom "tweaks" that we're currently using are available for the new BB version but most are. Even those will take me some time to integrate. Those which immediately come to mind are the calendar, avatars (as mentioned above, member directory, and current topics (found on front page). So, when these features are disabled following the upgrade please be patient and I'll restore them asap. I'll also try to incorporate what suggested features I can. My time is limited these days so again, I thank you for your patience as we transition thru yet another BB software upgrade smile.gif
And last but certainly not least, I'd like to thank all who have contributed to the support of Colorado4x4.org. Thru sticker purchases and/or donations your support has made this software upgrade possible graemlins/thumbsup.gif Thanks for helping us continue to improve this resource!! graemlins/beer.gif

Got back late from Holy Cross last night so obviously the upgrade didn't happen yet. I'll upgrade the BB as soon as I get a free moment which means it could happen at any time. For now you have some more time to copy that avatar location.

Hey Eric, Is view count and "last post by" available on this upgrade? Just thought it would be cool.

Unfortunately those still aren't included, but they should be available as add-ons. We won't have them to start with but I will try to implement them as soon as I can. Same with the calendar, the current topics on the main page, the ability to upload files, etc. which will be broken by the upgrade but restored shortly thereafter (hopefully).
The reason for the delay now btw is there is a brand spankin' new release due any day now (6.3.1) and if we're gonna upgrade we might as well have the latest graemlins/beer.gif Unfortunately now I'm gonna be busy the next few weeks with family in town so even if they release it tomorrow there's a good chance it'll be a couple weeks before I can get to it. From what I've read about it I think everyone will be pleased with it graemlins/beer.gif

The Bulletin Board has been successfully upgraded graemlins/beer.gif A couple notes:
</font> First and foremost, this upgrade was made possible by your support. Many thanks to those who have supported CO4x4 thru sticker purchases and donations! graemlins/beer.gif graemlins/beer.gif graemlins/thumbsup.gif</font> I hope you remembered where your Avatar was located, because now you'll need to edit your profile (link provided in navigation menu on the left) to get it back. The software comes with several to choose from, but to use your own personal Avatar just provide the location at the bottom of the selection window and click Set URL. If it doesn't appear in the upper left corner then you've done something wrong. When it shows up then click on Select This Avatar to close the window and apply your selection. If you uploaded your image here and can't remember exactly what you called it, feel free to browse the upload directory (http://www.colorado4x4.org/uploads) in hopes of finding it. Good luck!</font> Avatars must still be less than 5K in size!!. This is still on the honor system which means I'll still be monitoring this. Violate it once and the image is removed. Violate it twice and the image is removed AGAIN, you are warned, and your name is place on a list of violators. Strike three and you're outta here. Abuse this feature and custom avatars will be disabled.</font> The following features are broken and I'll fix them as soon as I get a chance: Uploads, new PM notification, Recent topics on the main page, the Calendar, and the Member Directory. If you see something else broken please let me know.</font> In addition to the change in Avatar selection, there are some other cool features in this upgrade. Namely the Blue Arrow at the top of each thread which should take you to the next post in the thread since your last visit (helps you find where you left off), the ability to preview your post, Polls (yes, you can now post your own polls), Report Post (Whistle icon at the bottom of each post. This is an easy way to report inappropriate posts to a moderator), and some profile preferences such as the ability to ignore everyone else's Avatar and the ability to completely hide your email address (people can still email you by using a built-in form, but they won't be able to see where it's going. Nice option for your privacy's sake if you're interested). Enjoy!</font>Your patience is appreciated while we complete the move to the new software. graemlins/beer.gif :D

I think the "Currently on line" feature isn't working. Or is it being replaced by the :recent visitors"?

Correct, the "Who's Online" of the past has been replaced by "Recent Visitors". The old version was an add-on hack and the new one is finally included in the BB software. I'll be doing some tweaking to it in the future though graemlins/beer.gif :D
