Colorado4x4 needs a favicon... I was thinking maybe a swamper... or a tread lightly fingerprint... something along those lines.

will this be implemented?

Hmmmm....doesn't seem to be working on mine. Must look into that a little more.

What about changing the icon as used in the browser URL bar? Any idea how to do that?

thats what I am talking about, they are called favicons apparently.

Hmmm...the way I read it, it would only change the icon displayed in your favorites list. Check it out for me if you don't mind; add http://www.yuccaman.com/jeep/45lift.html and see if that shows anything other than the 'e' ?

It changes the icon for both. Pirate4x4.com is another good example of this.

Submit some ideas for a CO4x4 favicon and I'll set it up :beer:

Alrighty then, given all of the submissions it was a tough selection process but longboy's was the winner ;) :beer: I uploaded the favicon.ico file and on my machine it more or less appears to be working correctly. I created a favorite/bookmark using IE6 and Firefox 1.0.4, and both correctly display the icon. When browsing the site, however, I noticed that IE only shows the icon in the address bar on the front page, and not for any of the forum pages. Firefox shows the icon for all pages, except if using tabs it doesn't appear on the tab. :confused: Beats me, for now this is the best I can do. At least it should work for everyone when creating a favorite/bookmark.

Innnteresting. I can't see the new 'favicon' on either of my machines, both are current IE6 - one under Win2000 Pro and the other on WinXP Pro.

That's what you get using that silly IE browser. :P
Works fine for me and looks good using Mozilla.

I always had troubles seeing these icons in IE, but they show up real purdy in FireFox. I just opened up CO4x4 in IE, and I don't see the icon either.
