The time has come to put our collective resources to the challenge.

Most everyone on this Board has done Left Hand at one time or another. Time to give something back to the sport, for the good of the sport. Show the community that we aren't the slobs that they think we are.

Bob,

This will be the 3rd year for us at the TrailRidge Runner's Left Hand Cleanup. The area looks great for about a week, and only takes that long to trash it up again by the shooters. So atleast an annual cleanup keeps the place somewhat 'natural'.

We always do a trip after the hotdogs at noon, usually Castle Gulch or snowy Gillespie. April is always a ways off for people to plan, but early planning never hurts. Maybe also post this in 'Staging 'Area'.

I'm planning on it!

T-shirts would be cool. Workin' on the stickers anyway, hope to have a sample soon graemlins/thumbsup.gif Sounds like this trail can use a couple cleanups a year, so maybe we can be a part of setting up the next one (mid-summer or end of summer perhaps?).

I agree Cliff ;) --Ive helped cleanup now for a few years. It only takes a weekend or two right after the cleanup before it's a dump again. Someting needs to be done. The FS needs to designate an area for the shooters,,,,,,like a portion of the city dump. :D

"entell" is that alittle southern draw left over from your younger years?

Count me in, tenatively. My significant other and I should be able to arrange it. Never been there, though. If we could hook up with someone to lead the way....

I moved to Denver from Oregon right about the time that DJ held that Mudfest thing, so I do remember it. Was very bad publicity on all 4wheelers. :(

As Spwest2 had said, Gettin the media involved is a very good idea. Maybe we get this out into the public alittle more, maybe this crap might not keep happening, or rather not as much. Media always seems to report alot on the bad things, whether it's 4wheelin or somethin else. Maybe it's about time they start spreadin news of community stuff like this.

I will try and be there, with the canopy off so i can load the truck up with junk as well. If someone could, someone who did this last year, send me a private message and let me know if my stock Dodge Dakota can handle the trail.

If it can, i'll prolly definately be in. Otherwise, i'll try and tag along with someone, as i am paranoid of leaving my nice rig alone....It might run away! tongue.gif

Anyway, let's do our best to get the media involved....It will shine good on us 4wheelers that we're the ones cleanin the trails up after the shooters have left their crap behind. True, it's not only the shooters doin it, but i'm sure most of us are guilty of it in one way or another.

I hate to think about it, but i know lots of times, i've had that empty Wendy's pop cup sittin in my bed when the wind picked it up and blew it out.

Anyway, you can prolly count me in, as i've heard it mentioned somewhere in this post...."Free Lunch!"

You don't have to worry about your truck, there will be many vechicles there and most people park on the road and walk up the trail. The clean up is only on the first part of the trail (where the shooters congregate). There will be a couple old trucks there to load all the trash into and haul it back down to the trail entrance, where the dumpter will be.

As for the media, they are invited every year. They just don't bother to show up. I guess a cleanup isn't sensational enough news to cover, unlike mudfests.

the forest service still acts like we are the problem though, and the shooters are fine. i don't like banning anyone from public land, but COME ON. i take my garbage bag every time i go and pick up stuff on the higher portions of the trail.
