View Full Version : Time Outs

It gets rather annoying to timeout all the time when reading the threads. I don't know if it is something to do with the BB, or something with local settings. I read an interesting, or not, thread and seem to have to log back in quite frequently. Is this a "feature" of the new software? If so, can it be set for longer than it currently is?

Thanks

I've never had that happen. The closest thing I can think of is my dialup connection timing out when I spend a long time writing something. Are you being bumped off the site or completely off the internet?

Not even off the site, but I have to log back in to post anything. It actually logs me off. I do have the "Remember me" checked as well.

I have no clue then. I never even log off the site, just go to other sites as I please & when I come back here I'm already logged on.

Sounds like cookie settings. Which browser are you using? Does this happen on other sites as well? Can you check your clock to verify that it's set to the correct time, date and time zone? Maybe try clearing out all your existing cookies (and your cached files while yer at it). If you need assistance with any of this stuff or if the problem persists, post back here with an update.

I'm using IE6(128bit). Come to think of it, it does seem to happen at work. I will have to check the settings. Just got a new system and their new policy is to take all admin rights away. They may have set something differently. I'll post back if I can figure it out

You can use this link to clear all CO4x4 cookies. Select everything that shows up and click "Delete My Cookies", then log in again:

Delete ALL CO4x4 cookies (http://www.colorado4x4.org/vbb/mycookies.php)

This is more complete than the "delete cookies" option in the FAQ or UserCP. Let me know if that helps?
