Another late arrival. Finally after nearly 4 weeks waiting from Asus I have a new laptop today. I used a combination of birthday and xmas money from my grandfather and money from parents to get this. Just something to help me do some photo editing and processing. So far I love it. getting used to Windows 7 after being on XP for so long is hard though but quickly growing on me.
Here are the specs on the laptop.

not bad for the price.(i actually only paid $850 for it) dedicated Nvidia GT 220 1gb video card and a true core 2 duo pentium. 4gb of memory. 7200rmp hard drive (5400rpm is what they usually put in laptops.)
Because it took so long to recieve it they threw in one of these guys for free.

That'll come in handy for transfering photos and storing photos till i get them burned. i've never owned a external HD. mostly cause they used to be big and bulky monsters. this thing is tiny and fits in the pocket of my shirt and it light weight.

Laptop also is good for some gaming too with its performance features. My other laptop died 2 years ago and my desktop i built 5 years ago and is getting dated and slow. now to figure out how to get my adobe light room onto this laptop and other stuff onto this laptop from the desktop

Now maybe i'll be more ambitious to do some photo editing and processing of RAW files with a much faster computer. I got tired of waiting on the desktop all the time when editing photos. It would crank away for several minutes and i'd just walk away.

Now to do some more playing and customizing of my new toy.

Looks like a sweet setup, may I suggest getting a full keyboard and mouse? You will hate photo editing with the finger pad...

I have a wireless mouse already. yeah finger pads drive me nuts after a while. the keyboard has never been an issue on laptops for me though so not much of an issue.

Because your a ridiculous, short praising, multi-tasking, button loving nerd... :P j/k

In all seriousness though, the pad itself works just as well on the bamboo IMO...customization of all the buttons and what not are much better on the intuos though....and the larger size it AWESOME! But they are also several times the price. As far as pen feel, sensitivity and actually using the thing for just the pen\brush like editing, I think the bamboo works great. I keep mine in my bag for on the go editing on my laptop.
