View Full Version : The year 2009 in photos

December 16th, 2009, 06:19 PM
The year 2009 is now coming to a close, and it's time to take a look back over the past 12 months through photographs. Historic elections were held in Iran, India and the United States, some wars wound down while others escalated, China turned 60, and the Berlin Wall was remembered 20 years after it came down. Each photo tells its own tale, weaving together into the larger story of 2009. This is a multi-entry story, 120 photographs over three days.

Interesting that they chose to ignore the massive demonstrations by american citizens to try and reel in our out of controll govn. while they seem to have made sure to include the same actions by other countries arround the world. I guess they werent kidding when they said that the regime in power would "rewrite history"

should have put this in the photography section where the politico crowd wouldn't ruin it and the awesome imagery could have been appreciated.

Sure Potter there are some good images here but make no mistake about it, the collection is a political piece. The text in the OP even makes it clear that this is a political piece, they just chose to use images instead of words.

Potter is never short on words????? Everything is political..... especially when the OP opens with a picture of Obama with his right hand raised....... WJW

I was able to find a few great photos after my stomach settled down.
