I am using mine still too! However, I need a copy to run on my server!!

Also, I have downloaded the 1.5 patch, but have not tried it, I am a AIX JUNKIE! BEST MOD EVER!

are you sure that you need a key for the server? you can download the whole thing off the internet.

You need a key just to install. I would assume that it uses it checks it against the other computers to make sure that the keys are different.

I know I can download it, I just would rather have a hard copy.

they never made a hard copy of the server... you MUST download it.

Yes you can run a server as you play, but a dedicated server does not have the capablity to play from the same machine, just serve up the game...

I think you are overcomplicating it...

there is a file called BF2 SERVER (or close to it)

AIX server (they list it for linux, which they never released the game on)

1.5 patch makes the expansion packs free! so now all online play will include all the abilities for the expansion packs. SWEET!

AIX is still better though

If you put in your BF2 disk, and click advanced on the pop up menu, you will find a icon that says run server. Also, when you install AIX a icon will appear on you desktop called BF2SPCC, this appears to be the AIX server software, but it erros out every time I try it.

EDIT: server is only running 1.41 patch, and mostly running AIX
