View Full Version : FFL's School me

I know this has been brought up before, but a quick search didn't bring me any luck.

I am ready to make my first firearm purchase. I have checked around local for the pistol I want, but nobody has one. I have found a online sale that has the one I want for about 30$ cheaper than the rest. So I know that to purchase this weapon I need to have it shipped to an FFL. Then said FFL will charge me a transfer fee!!?? Will the FFL run a background on me, or how does that part work? Also I'm hoping a good FFL might point me to a better deal on the specific weapon!!??

Anyone who has a FFL they use in South Denver and wants to PM me info is more than welcome.

TIA everyone.

There's a guy named David Law in Westminster that I use. His business name is Protekt Solutions, and he operates out of his house. Helluva nice guy. He charges me $20 for transfer fees, and yes, you do the Form 4473 right there at his kitchen table, he calls it in over his laptop.

He also keeps some new handguns in stock, he might have what you want already. He can also most likely order whatever you want. But I don't know what he has or can get during this current frenzy, so your best bet is to check out his site and call him. http://www.protektsolutions.com/

Shotgun News FFL (http://listings.shotgunnews.com/fflguide/) & Gun Broker.com FFL (http://v4.beta.gunbroker.com/FFL/DealerNetwork.aspx) guides, enough info there to find what you need.

Thanks gents for the 411!

Rondog~ Your contact happens to have the pistol I am interested in listed on his site, and cheeper than anywhere else I have seen. I have sent him an e-mail. Hopfully he still has it in stock!

I can second what rondog said about David. I have a couple of pieces on the way to him.

As long as the background goes through, I'll be the proud owner of a XDm 9mm tomorrow night! :pbj:

Ah, sweet! No fair putting the photos in a different thread though! But I'll be a nice guy and tell ya that I just bought some WWB 9mm at the Walmart in Parker a couple days ago. 100 round boxes for $19.95, they had several. Don't know if they still do.
