Sense I got hit by the minivan a couple months back and she said "I didn't see you there" I got my modification done, daytime running lights into the "twilight" spot of the lens. I started off trying to find a spot that I could wire into for "Hot in start & Run" and found it off of the cruse control plug. The plug has hot in start & run and a ground within it. I soldered the ends of the wires of my loom and then pushed them into the slots that had the black with yellow stripe for the "hot in start & run" and black for ground. Wired a switch into the positive side of a loom that I made for the LEDs. Took apart the blank switch cover and made a couple of holes in it to get the switch to fit. Instead of trying to get some wires through the firewall, I always like to find wires that are not being used that are already installed. Found a connector that was not being used just above the clutch petal and found wires that went to a plug located on the drivers-side under the hood. The wire color that was used was the green with black stripe for ground and green with yellow stripe for the hot in start & run. Purchased some Bright LEDs and 33 Ohm resistors, made a array of 4 LEDs for each "twilight" spot. Connected it all up and was happy with what I had done, now when I drive most people are not pulling out in front of me, but waiting for me to pass. I'm feeling that I'm much more noticeable now.
Forgot to put in total cost...oh about $30 :D
Total labor was about 8 hours spaced out over three weeks.
