Just another thing telling you that those little black rifles are overpriced.

Having at least one or more of all three of them ill say this...

Ill take the AK for self defense...

Ill take the AR for any precision work or target shooting...

Ill take the Mosin for beating in my tent stakes or using the humungo bayonet for digging trenches...

Having all 2 of the 3, I have to agree with the above except that i'd rather have a shotgun over the ak.

A nicely tuned mosin is a fairly decent rifle.

Im not talking home defense...im talking wartime defense...or when the zombies take over....

A shotgun aint gonna do you no good at ranges over about 25ish yards.

Just stating personal preference of the items listed, but for 50yds or less i'd still take my saiga 12 with a stack of 10 rd mags loaded with 00. Of course, I did get rid of my ak's to finance a couple of FAL's as my go to guns (just feel better to me than my ar's do). If I could justify the 50 bmg upper for an ar to the wife, i'd be set......

I'm still a big fan of the AK. If I'm ever in a Katrina Situation, you know what I'll be carrying. :D

The Moisin is a good bolt gun, but I'll take my Mauser K98k or Enfield. Oh yeah and I prefer my Russian SKS's with stripper clips over my AK's for Red Dawn. More accurate and still able to produce a lot of firepower.

For a bolt gun I'd rather have a K31, oh I do. :D Cost more but way better.

I like my K31 too, but its expensive as hell to feed

What isn't these days except 22lr?

K31 has never been cheap. I bought all the 39 and 54 ammo me and my extended family as well as a few neighbors could shoot in a lifetime back when it was cheap. I bought my first sks rifles from the gun stores when they were $139 each and that included a sealed tin of ammo. Our ammo collection still takes up about 2 pallets total.

Nice, I wish I would have stocked up earlier. Unfortunately I was broke when ammo was cheap.

Reload. I can even feed my MAS 49/56 in 7.5 French for peanuts. And that is an oddball caliber.

I am in the process of getting setup to reload. Still I wish I bought more ammo when it was cheap.

I reload, but 7.62x39 and 54 has never been worth the money to reload. I did a cost sheet sheet on it 2 years back and at that time I could buy 500 of the 39 rounds for the cost of reloading 100, and 1240 of the 54 rounds for the cost of reloading 140.

Yeah I buy all my 7.62 and 5.45 for my Combloc guns. Its still a very good value.
