Okay, so my name is Kristina and I'm new to photography. I have always loved it, but never really got into it until a couple years ago. Recently, i've been doing it more because i want to take my own pictures of our baby and have been using photoshop elements 6, gimp 2, and picasso for editing.

I have a Canon Powershot S2IS that I bought 4 years ago when i first started to get into it, but never really learned how to use it, lol!

So, here are some pics that i've taken with and without editing.

EDIT: reposted with the watermark ones

I like the baby's hand (2nd to last) the best. I look at my 3 year olds hands now and wish I had some like that from when she was a baby.

and that's why i'm trying to get better at it. I can't afford to keep taking him to a pro for every stage, its just too expensive. I'm starting to collect little props, and google for ideas since i'm not very good at "staging"

One thing i didn't do, that i kick myself for, is to take progression type pics in something that will measure his growth. ie.. in his swing or something, like first days home in the swing, then at a month, then 3, 6 etc...

I agree....you've gotten more than half the battle done my dear by being able to "see" good composition in a photo! Nicely done.
