I purchased a revolver on gunbroker.com and it didn't come with a security key. Does anyone know where I can get one or have an extra one laying around?

It's for a Taurus Model 85 .38 special

TIA

Is it locked in the "open" or the "closed" position? If it's in the "open" position (i.e. you can use the gun) I'd just say leave it. I've got at least 1 gun with the stupid "lock" mechanism (Springfield M1911A1 GI Model) and I refuse to use it. The gun stays locked in a security container when not being used, that's as "locked" as it needs to be.

it's not locked at all, just wanting a "safety"....

I only think I have one gun with an internal safety. Never used it.

You could always get a locked cabinet or safe, that's what I do.

You sure don't want to be looking for a key if you need that gun!

That reminds me of those "smart" guns the antis keep wanting to push on us.

"Hey wait Mr. Robber, Murderer, Rapist, the sensor isn't picking up my plam print correctly to arm my gun."

I wouldn't use the internal lock as a safety device. If you have kids in the house get one of those little safes where you can quickly punch in a code to retrieve the gun.
