Some friends of mine have two booths out there and will be renting out guns. They're trying to get me to spend the weekend up there but I'm not sure if I'll do that. I might just visit for a day.

I love going to the shoot. I will be there probably just for one day a couple of hours. If i stay any longer than that i end up leaving broke. i would love to meet some members up there.

Isn't it free entrance with a Mil Veh? Not that I'd waste all the diesel to drive down there - just wondering if it's the same one I've heard of in the past.

Its fun but if you can hold out a little longer, go to the Cheyenne Wells one...its a much bigger/better event.

Either way, go to one of them...their a blast! Literally!

Its free at both events if you drive your Mil Vehicle out. I have yet to drive the pinz there, to flat. Usually there is some pretty sweet half tracks, old military jeeps, etc.

Did I see you on broadway around littleton a few weekends ago? Maybe two?

That thing is CLEAN and nice.

Probably not, I have not driven the beast in a bit. In the middle of shoulder surgery. No power steering would make it a tough. Probably a friend of mine though most are generally pretty clean since the swiss never did anything.

Guess I'll post up some vids from the shoot. We tried to make it out Thursday but I-25 was closed just past Castle Rock, so we went home and left Friday afternoon. Most of Saturday was spent renting guns out to the spectators, and we didn't get much shooting in. Got some shooting in on Sunday though before we left. My camera batteries were dead (I was sure I charged them) so I only took a few vids with my camcorder. Hopefully I'll get those captured and uploaded tonight.

These are from a friend.

AFAIK. Ft. Morgan is too early and too damn cold for me, I froze my ass last year at Cheyenne Wells, and it's in May.

Those are some great vids, I`m going to try to make it out there, but I just got laidoff, so money is tight.
Can you bring your own gun, or is this just a demo?

I've wanted to go too Cheyenne Wells for 2 years but this year I'm finally going to make it. Probably can't afford to rent guns but thats OK. Whats the cost to rent guns? Your videos have me so stoked I can't stand it.

If you have a full-auto or .50BMG rifle, you could probably bring it, I don't know what the rules are. But it's not just a "bring yer gun out and shoot it Bubba" kinda thing.

The cost to rent things varies from vendor to vendor, and depends on the weapon/caliber of course. Anything in .50bmg costs a lot to operate, so renting those are expensive, each round is about $2.50-$3.00. But you GOTTA shoot an M2 at least ONCE in your life!

The minigun is the worst, it shoots so damn much ammo it costs a fortune to play with, for a few seconds.

Me and the grandkid found one vendor that charged $20 per magazine, whether it was a Thompson, AK47, MP5, whatever he had that you wanted to shoot. I think some guns they break even on, others they make a few bucks on.

Now, this year, with the cost and scarcity of ammo in the market currently, who knows how much this joy is gonna cost this year.....sure is fun though! Made me realize right away that I DON'T really want to own a f/a weapon, they eat too much.

Sure fun to watch though!
