The last 30 miles of a ride yesterday were after dark and in the middle of a huge thunderstorm with lots of lightning bolts. I eventually glued myself to a spot 30 yards behind a cars taillights and used peripheral vision a lot. And tried mostly successfully to not think about how badly my rear tire needs replaced.
I saw the storm for a long ways before I got into it and kept hoping to miss it but no. My raingear kept me totally dry but ducking down close to the windshield was the only way to see much. The last couple turns before home felt pretty good.
PSA: Keeping your hi beams on til the last minute really blinds motorcyclists in the rain.
