I've got a bit of a problem here. My buddy and i just went to a junkyard to get an axle for his XJ, and when he dropped me back off at my house he left a huge oil spot on the driveway...turns out the oil was leaking out of the axle and seeping through the bed of the truck. What can I do to get that stuff off my concrete driveway?

kind of depends on how porous your driveway is, but a good place to start is grinding in dry-sweep or kitty litter before it gets too many days of heat to sink in and spread out.
after that possibly a pressure washer with detergent if the left over stain is too bad. likely though it will be noticeable for quite a while unless you have a pretty well polished driveway

kitty litter... stomp/dance on it and let it sit...
if that does not do the job go to lowes and get some muraic (sp?) acid and dilute it and use that... (be careful!)

Pour more 90W over the whole driveway so it matches like a laquer finish.
Really I have had good luck with kitty litter or just sweep up the fine dirt from the floor in your garage and pile it up grind it in with your feet on the mess. leave it for a couple of days then go back and sweep it up it wont be completely gone at first but in a while it will pretty much disapear on its own. Cement is porous and the heavy oil will eventually make its way to the bottom.

Thanks, guys. I'll pick up some kitty litter later, and for now I'm going to try some of this enzyme and water solution that i bought a while back...best stuff I've ever used it took all the spots right out of the floor mats in the Jeep.

That's some great stuff.
Edit: watch the Muratic Acid. It'll get rid of the stain, but leave it on long enough and it'll get rid of the concrete too...

Powdered laundry soap with a de-greaser in it. Use it like kitty litter, dry to start with.

Once you get the oil mostly up, use some starter fluid.
Spray the spot with automotive starter fluid and gab up the rest as it pulls the spot out of the driveway.

HD sells a few products I'll use for this.
First, I pour a little acetone on the spot and let it soak in. Then, I rub it in really well with a bristley push broom.
After that a company called Zepp or Zapp makes a driveway cleaner. I throw that all over it, let it sit, and then blast it with the pressure washer. Repeat.
The kitty litter is a great first step, though.

Simple Green is great for eating up oil.
Get out your kitty litter, get what you can up. Pour simple green in a puddle on spill. Let it soak an hour, that is if its not so hot it evaporates, spray off with pressure sprayer. Reapply and soak for another hour if needed.
I left a huge spill on my fathers spotless brick colored driveway. This process worked.

degreaser sprayed on after initial cleanup seems to work for all of my many spills

Heres my nasty driveway regimen...
Spray it off with hot water and soak the bad spots in simple green for about 10 mins. Scrub that with a stiff bristle brush, spray it off and let it dry completely. Sometimes that alone is enough to get it off but if its not, take the kitty litter, and pour enough to cover the spot. Now grind it into the concrete with your foot...you basically want to to the litter into as much powder as possible and get it good and ground in. Then sweep it up. 9 times out of 10 that will get rid of the nastiest driveway gunk.
