ONE WEEK AWAY!!

I know, it's kinda strange having a race on a Thursday evening, but it's summer, it's the fair, and maybe it might workout better for you being it's not a weekend.

Come win some cash!!

Stock or not, bring what you have and see what you got.

Also ,get into the fair and also watch the monster trucks

PIN IT and HOLD ON!

WOW!!!! I did not think that anyone ran tough trucks out this way. Well it is a start on the list of reasons not to leave the truck back east.

We will be there to watch for sure.

What do you run for rules?

Rules are pretty basic

Seatbelt
Helmet ( I wear a neck brace as well, which I will loan out if wanted)
Then they do a vehicle inspection. Just safety check and brakes mostly.

When I first started racing these and arena trucks back in the midwest, this is what got my hooked on Toyotas.
They fly very nice and take one hell of a beating!

I have seen tons of Toyotas running tough truck over the years and they always do really well, although recently the 4.0 cherokees and explorers are becoming very common and doing really well. I think that may have something to do with the rust monsters catching the yotas.

Billy you raced tough trucks in the midwest? We may have raced some of the same people. I never got that far west just because I came out of way upstate ny but have raced with the Armbrusters, Roger Cardot, Gary McIver and a lot of guys from the midwest for years

I just heard an ad on the radio for tough trucks at the Island Grove rodeo arena in Greeley on Aug 9. Does anyone know of other races that are coming up? Thinking I may build one to keep out here if I can run it a few times a year and leave mine back east for now. Good way to spend the winter

Oh yea, 2 of those ring a bell. I think the they were a bit after I left the area. Biggest name in our crew was Rory Cambell. I only usually went as far east as Indy. We had a winter show with Pace motorsports and a summer one for the 4wheel jambo. Hit Ohio twice, but thats it.

Yes, there are going to be 3 tt races 3 weeks in a row starting Thursday night, and Greely is one of them

Photos of an event that has not happened yet?

I raced at a couple of races with Rory. He ran the Bronco for a longtime and then the Moser Engineering truck that A&R built and then he dissappeared. I have not seen him in several years. I know the truck became the new Bully Dog truck and was sold at BBurg to a mudracer.

I will bring the camera. Not going to guarantee results, I am normally driving. Is it possible to get a decent picture from the stands or is there a better location?

Had a good time at the show. Got some good pictures of everything but the setting sun was right in our faces, which limited pictures after it popped out from behind the clouds. Need to unload the camera tonight and will post them up. We can send them on to toughtrucknews.com but I will just need to get some help with everyones names etc.

I noticed someone on the announcers stand with a camera running on the monsters. Monsterblog.com coverage?

Not going to be able to make the Colorado Springs show but I will be in Greeley.

I was really surprised to see that almost everything was two wheel drive. Any reasons?

Shoot, you should of come down to the pits and hung out.
Glad you came out!

2wd vs. 4wd.
Just like suspension secrets and all that, I think it's just whatever you think will work.
Now in an arena style course I would of brought the 4wd, but on a nice open course like last nights, and not so tight corners, I feel my 2wd will be faster.

I took 2nd last night, and I didn't feel like I was getting power to the ground like I wanted.
I run an open diff though, where I may lose a bit in a straight line, in the corners I can put my front tires right on the cone and power through.

I bet your ready to go get your rig from out east, huh? :)

Right now I am going to leave the current truck back east and run a couple of the big races and build another one to run out here. I have storage back east for the current truck and building a new one will keep me busy over the winter.

If we can get some names for the trucks and drivers we can send these to the website. Have you guys ever looked into an association that does a TT series?

I am going to be in Greeley next weekend. I will try and get down and meet you

Last night hurt me a bit in the pocketbook.
Had my sights set on first and just to darn anxious.
Trying to dirt track it around a corner and I had way to much grip...

True. I seem to overlook stuff like that sometimes.

Yea, I will be racing Greeley.
Currently setting up a different suspension for it.

I have to beat Lance. The black, beamed, S-10.
He has taken first the last 2 events.

Plus we will have some time to fix our trucks before the next race at the State Fair at the end of the month, so I think most guys will be going all out

Yea. I was pretty bummed Sat night, but I guess it was going to happen sooner or later......was just hoping for later.
But now when I'm test jumping while tuning the suspension, it gives me a I don't give a crap feeling ....lol

Since you last seen it I switched from 275 over 400 to 350 over 400 in the rear. Still was too soft but was better.
So Monday I switched out the CO's to 2.5 airs along with triple resevoirs in the rear. I know it sounds strange but it lands sooo smooth now.
And for the short course stuff, I don't think it will go long enough to heat up the airshox.

We'll see how well it works on Sat. night I guess....

I thought some of those trucks looked familiar!

I raced a red jeep cherokee in the stock class at penrose. I have 4" lift & nitro shocks but that is about it. The jeep did really well on that course but it could have used a little more suspension! I am debating on going to Greeley due to the distance from here (Calhan, CO). Do you guys know anything about the track layout up there?

Here is the jeep: http://www.gneenterprises.com/tufftruck/
