11 of us from Rising Sun made the trek out to the 20th annual Rubithon joining 150+ Toyotas to run the Rubicon Trail.

The trail has quite a reputation but frankly most of the obstacles are no more difficult than the best Colo has to offer. The difference is how rough the trail is ... like 12 miles of the the rock garden on Spring Creek with French creek repeated every 1/4 mile and Jaws 2 scattered here and there.:D

Any well prepped rig can handle it, 1/2 of our group drive LC wagons and a rig that big is a challenge in the narrows but a Jeep would have few real issues. If you can stomach gas at $4.79 a gal I would highly recommend making the trip:thumbsup:

On to some pics

Sweet pics!

Anyone break anything? All those rigs look pretty capable and armored up.

Thx

In our group we had a minitruck break a rear spring and one of the FJ-40s busted the knuckle studs both sides. Two FZJ80 guys broke sway bar mounts. I think all the FZJ80 took some body damage ... mostly small dents and scrapes.

With a 150+ rigs there was plenty of other carnage over the 4 days of the event. This guy rolled while trying to strap a Jeep:rolleyes: up a steep section, fortunately no major injuries.

Great pics. I'll be out there in about six weeks, so hopefully it will be worth the cost of fuel to get there.
