I love this camera!!!!

Getting most of the controls down as well...Jeff have you figured out how to quickly switch between one shot and continuos? That seems to elude me...

Yup, press the "af-drive" button on top and rotate the dial on the back of the camera. I usually just leave it in High speed continuous so i dont switch very often.

Having two control dials is confusing at first but once you get used to it, its nice because it essentially makes each one of the buttons dual function in some way or another...means less buttons and less digging through menus to find the functions your looking for. My Nikon was the same way as the 40D is...just in a different spot.

Yeah...very cool indeed. I plan on picking up a battery grip and some extra batteries in the next few days.Something about that grip still just feels right to me, even with the heavier body of the 40D.And Sterlingtek has replacement batteries for $12 with good user reviews all over the place...kinda hard not to pick up a few and an extra AC/DC charger on the cheap.

I plan on doing the same thing...they rate the single battery well over 1000 actuations but with the speed at this thing shoots, 1000 actuations could be shot in a matter of minutes. They let me try the Canon one on my camera at Canoga camera and i REALLY like it...probably the next thing on my list other than the 70-200 2.8.

Ill probably just break down and pay full price for one...used ones on POTN get snatched up within mins of them being posted and i dont feel like waiting forever for one. The lens however, ive got a line on a like new used one for 850 but im waiting on the guy to get back to me...best price ive seen on one yet!
