why do my numbers for subscribers keep changing?
I mean, in the same day it will go from 22 to 33, to 27, to 25. Does that mean people are pulling their subscriptions and then new people are coming online?

What service do you use?
If you want something wicked cool...sign up for SiteMeter. Its free and gives you a lot better info than most blogging service counters. I check it once a week or so, or you can put a widget directly on your blog. I don't do this because other than the people here...I try to keep my whereabouts pretty quiet. But you can still use it without having the widget on your blog.
I've found that Typepad (the service I use) is never right with their counters but SiteMeter is right on.
To see an example of SiteMeter go to http://theredneckmommy.com/ and on the left, just above the photo of the dog, you'll see the SiteMeter widget. It'll show you what it does. You can see where in the world your readers are coming from and all kinds of cool stuff.
