Hiked up to Hanging Lake to stretch our legs from driving today.

The lady hiking in a skort and flip flops. Dirty looks from some, praises from others. No problems as she is a real mountain lady, and we blazed up and back as we lapped most of the "city" hikers decked out in hundreds of dollars worth of hiking gear.

Great pics. This hike just to stretch your legs though? Kicks my arse every time I do it. SOOOO worth it though!

Lake looks the same as when I shot this one in 2000...

Nice shots! Next time, slow down that shutter speed and make the water look cool and feathery. :)

Nice! I've always wanted to make that hike and never gotten around to it. The one time the hubby & I were going to do it, we got up there from Denver, but made the mistake of taking the dog with us. Ended up having a picnic lunch in the canyon and driving back home.

I love that hike.......gets the heart pumping and there's always a creek there to dunk your cap in to cool off. :beer:

Sorry about the quality of the pics. I was "point and shooting" pretty fast and didn't worry about custom settings. There were A LOT of people coming up the trail and we were anxious to head back down and grab some grub.
I'd like to do some better shooting when things green up a little more, and during a week day moring when the traffic is low. Different camera as well...
