Has anyone done business with them? Great prices, especially on the 17-70 lens.

I haven't heard anything bad about them, but have yet to do business with them.

Wolf has the 17-70 (Canon mount) for $354.

Not bad for Wolf. This site has it for $324. Still looking into shipping costs though.

Yeah, I figure its worth the $25 to have it in my hands today.

It's much easier to return a faulty lense to the Wolf Camera down the road, then to receive a return authorization and ship back to an on-line retailer. That piece of mind might be worth the extra $30. That said...I took a gamble and bought my Sigma 10-20 ultra-wide from another on-line retailer. Lense showed up 3 days later and works excellent. I've read not everyone is so fortunate.

Sigma is notorious for QC problems.

This is news to me...ive used and abused SEVERAL Sigma lenses as well have alot of other members here and on several other boards and ive never heard any complaints about quality control or build quality.

Yea, it certainly could be internet crap. 5 or 6 people with the problems post up and the 10,000 happy customers don't say a thing. I researched the 10-20 extensively before buying and quite a few folks had to return their lense for another. Perhaps the relatively new 10-20 HSM took a little time, post-release, to iron out. All I really know is that I'm very happy with my Sigma lense, enthusiastically recommend it, and would buy another Sigma anytime. It's solidly built and the ultra-wide world is just plain juicy.

Team D.A.T.A., if you've been thinking about Sigma's ultra-wide, here are some full-res, unprocessed photos to review. They're from my D40 and Sigma 10-20. The body and I are certainly the limitations.

Very nice octoberist.

Thanks, but those pics just show I have a lot to learn. After ignoring the histogram for 1,933 pictures, I finally used it today up at Gem Lake in RMNP. I also started checking the blinkies for blown out highlights. My pictures just got a little better. :) Still messing with f-stops and shutter speeds, trying to learn what works best when. Still lots to learn. But yea, thanks.

If you shoot in RAW, you can pretty much ignore that histogram. I dont think ive ever used mine. You can tweak all your exposure and highlights quite easily through lightroom or photoshop in post processing.
