So the Dems control the Governor's office, the House, and the Senate but it's the GOPs fault that they can't get anything done to fix the roads in this state. :silly:

Ritter: GOP stalled road efforts (http://www.denverpost.com/search/ci_<a%20class='srNewsTitleLink'%20href='http://www.denverpost.com/ci_9186827)

"Ritter's comments came at a news conference to talk about the 2008 legislative session, which ended Tuesday night. In it, he and Democratic legislative leaders initially blamed Republicans for the lack of any action on transportation.

That's despite the fact that Democrats hold sizable majorities in the legislature and control the governor's office."

This is politics and an election year. Are the roads going to pay for themselves?
Hint..no taxes will be raised, and R opponents will say look what that D did, raise your taxes!!! Gasp

I understand that. I just think it's really lame of them to blame the Republicans for their lack of progress. They could at least be a little more creative with their excuses. Something like "With the economy the way it is, we didn't want to raise taxes so we are making do with what we have." would be better than blindly pointing their finger at the Republicans when everyone knows the Democrats could have pushed through whatever bills they wanted regardless of the Republicans.

And for what it's worth I think the Republicans were pretty much just as lame the last time they controlled the governor's office and legislature. But it's the Democrats that control it now.

"And for what it's worth I think the Republicans were pretty much just as lame the last time they controlled the governor's office and legislature. But it's the Democrats that control it now."

The difference is what they have to work with...

"when referendum C was first promoted, the advocates claimed that it would raise $3 billion. Later, they raised the estimate to $3.75 billion. As the Independence Institute pointed out at the time, the 3.75B was implausible, because revenues from the oil and gas severance tax were soaring. Now, it turns out that ref C will raise an extra 10 billion dollars in taxes. Although the ref C advocates dishonestly described ref C as as ?temporary? ?five-year? ?time-out? from the Taxpayers Bill of Rights, the effect of ref C will be a permanent increase in state government taxing and spending levels allowed under the state Constitution. And yet, $10 billion extra dollars, over five years, plus billions and billions more in perpetuity, is not enough for the tax consumer lobby, which is gearing up to push another tax increase on the 2008 ballot."

Yeah... but they had to actually work their butts off to do dramatically less with dramatically more.

here's an idea though, lets allow the unions into government too. That'll be real efficient, and won't create ANY future problems...

Roads and bridges falling apart, Should have passed Ref D, the one that was going to fix the roads.

I don't want to get to far off topic here, I just noted the average wages in Wyoming part. Well let me think for a second... All Wyoming is, is oil and gas, mining, and cattle. These industries have been doing fairly well and when you couple that with a state population of like 12, of course they are going to have higher average wages.:D
