Best way to save gas is not drive aggressive. That alone can save up to 37% in gas mileage. (according to edmunds.com (http://www.edmunds.com/advice/fueleconomy/articles/106842/article.html))

State Rep. Thad McClammy of Alabama ? which has a maximum speed limit of 70 mph ? this year proposed a measure that would enable his state to easily ratchet down speed limits when fuel prices are high and raise them when prices are low.Yet another example of unnecessary government meddling. If I were to check his party affiliation, I wonder what I'd see?
When the frak do we think fuel prices are actually supposed to be lower anyway? I see that the price jumps quickly upon any reported news of shortage, or any potential price jump...but always drops slowly once there is a surplus or refinery repair. Yawwwwwnnnnn...
What's next? Mandatory vehicle size limits based on the family size or use?

Which will become more difficult if we have some drivers going 75 and some going 55. There will be more accidents due to various speeds people will be driving.

Which will become more difficult if we have some drivers going 75 and some going 55. There will be more accidents due to various speeds people will be driving. In Colorado, there is already a reasonable law in place regarding lane usage on roads where the speed limit is 65mph or higher. If you're not passing, GTFO of the left lane. I've transferred people over to CSP who complain about tailgaters and listened as CSP gave 'em an earful about driving in the wrong lane...

That sure doesn't apply to my truck. If I baby my truck around town, I get 18 mpg. If I drive the wheels off it, I get 16 mpg. That sure isn't 37% or even close to it. Most of the time my truck is running around as a wolf in sheep's clothing, at 500 hp.
This whole concept it dumb. Who is going to determine what is high for price and what is low for price? Are there not better things, for these people we elect and pay for, to be doing? How about instead of wasting money on new speed limit signs and someone to install them everytime the gas price fluctuates, we put that money into something useful or even return it to the budget so they can ease off the government gas taxes?
