So I just got a fat economic stimulus deposit in my checking account today. 3 days earlier then the estimates were for my soc #, and it turned out to be close to the max , at least waaay more then I expected.

So for all the haters, thank you George. :flipoff2:

WTF? How much were you expecting? You either get $600 or you don't (you're single and have no kids, correct?).

Just remember... they didn't pull that money out of their own wallets. They took *your* money, skimmed off a large amount, and handed you back a tiny bit of it. Then, they borrowed cash from other countries, driving down the value of the dollar, to cover the difference since they didn't change any of the government's spending habits.

So, what you got is some money they shouldn't have taken from you in the first place which is now worth less than it was when you earned it. Congrats!

Thought I was getting 3. Got 6.

And yes everyone, I believe that he is a dumbass also. Understand the economic situation, etc. However it is still cool to get 6 bills. :flipoff2:

Yeah right. This is borrowing from the Chinese to send to the Arabs. Our children relish the opportunity to pay it back with interest.

Actually, I prefer to have as little taken out as possible, then I usually keep it in something that is higher yield instead of giving the government a interest free loan. But I'm not sure what your talking about, could you please inform me in these matters?

Last I checked, I pay taxes too. And, being younger than you are (:flipoff2: ), I'll be paying taxes longer, so these checks will ultimately cost me more than they cost you. Have a  and STFU :D

This "stimulus" is bullshit.

If they wanted to stimulate the economy by giving out money why didn't they just NOT TAKE IT in the first place? Would have saved a lot of time and effort.

Anyway, I didn't qualify or a stimulus so enjoy spending my money on hookers and blow you bastages. :flipoff2:

My check is goin into savings to pay for the increase they put in the tax tables for 2008 so we couldn't see it directly on the 1040 forms. Basically, they give you money now knowing that most will go out and spend the windfall, and then force you to pay it back next April 15th.

I'm not playin their game, I won't be buyin any extra imported crapola.

Or get a wife that doesn?t work, pop out a couple of kids and you?ll get even more.

I sincerely thank those of you who didn?t get anything. It?s gotta be the stupidest idea I have ever heard of but I?ll take my new TIG and be happy that the government found it in their hearts to give me a little bit of my money (and some of Yota?s, and Snotty?s, and Macks and Coppercowboys and all you other suckers) back.

And not only will we pay it back next year in increased taxes but we?ll also pay tax on what we received. Basically the government will make somewhere around 30% more than what they gave out. I?ll worry about that next year though once I?m proficient on my new welder.
