I'd love to give track racing a shot in winter, but my bike budget is quite finite. :D

Yeah, I grew up near the Kutztown Velodrome. Never tried it but looked fun.

We have the 7 eleven velodrome here in Colorado springs I have ridden and race there some in past years, it's a blast.

I built up an old frame as a single speed this winter to run errands, get to work, etc. I think I spent about $150 getting it up and running. Tried the 32/16 for a while, but after taking it on an "easy" trail ride, I switched to 32/18. Seems to be about the best comprimise for using around town and taking on an occasional trail ride.

The bike has smoothed out my spin and built some strength, but now that the trails are drying out and my rides are getting longer, the single speed is starting to gather dust. It's great in the winter, riding snowy/icy streets, easy trails and the like, but it's just not as fun as my Heckler for rides with lots of elevation change. Spending more time on my road bike now too.
