Okay, so we're getting closer to our trip next week!!! Since we've got my parents going and one child, we are setting aside a couple days to do more scenic trails that the parents can enjoy that will be easy on their old achey bones.

So, what trails do you recommend that are easy and that have outstanding views?

Sorry, I should add that the trails should be something a stock 4x4 could do. My dad is almost 69 years old, my mom is 55, so no big obstacles. Just easy, dirt roads or "easy" trails with some minor little obstacles.

We'll be in Frisco's XJ which has lockers f/r, 33's, i think a 4in lift, a winch and my ZJ which is on 33's, 4.5" long arm lift.

Copper Ridge (http://www.4x4now.com/cr.htm) and connect to Klondike Bluffs to come out through Arches, NP.

Top of the World (http://www.4x4now.com/mttw.htm).

Secret Spire (http://www.4x4now.com/mtss.htm)

Take them to Dead Horse Point State Park--a must-see. Another scenic easy drive is Potash Road to the spectacular switchbacks into the back door of Canyonlands NP.

Check out all the 'Easy' trails in Wells' guide book.

hmmm...trying to think if 7 mile has any real obstacles. Can't remember any, maybe the occasional smallish ledge but nice views.

Potash Road/Shafer Switchbacks can be combined with Long Canyon for a great scenic run that is very easy. Go up Potash/Shafer into Canyonlands then exit the Park on 313 (I think that's the right highway #). Turn like you're going to Deadhorse Point (or even go out there for a little while. Just before the paved road makes a big, sweeping curve to the right a dirt road goes left/straight. This drops into Long Canyon.

Or the opposite side of the valley from Dead Horse. Hurrah Pass is a nice, mellow drive. Chicken corners is fun.

3D is another easy trail - it has one loose uphill section, but all the times I have been on it, stockers have had no issues. There is a scenic viewpoint about 1/2 way through that has some fabulous views...

Top of the World is insanely easy. Just a nice small road with occasional small ledges that are easily navigated. DaJudges pictures pretty much show you what you see at the top, but in person it is breathtaking to look 1200 feet or so straight down from the edge to the canyon floor. You can also visit the Dewey bri..... oh, never mind.

Another quick trip would be to run out to Gemini Bridges. You can start by running Bull Canyon - an easy trail that takes you to the base of Gemini Bridges, then running to the top of the bridges. Doing both gives you a better perspective on the size of the arch.

7 mile rim features a significant sidehill section. Not hard, but it is >22 degrees off-camber.

Recently returned from Moab. Each of these trails have been mentioned but I wanted to recommend the following combination of trails that a stock 4x4 would easily be able to do. In addition you will get great views. Start on Bull Canyon which takes you to the base of Gemini Bridges then go back out and continue on trail to Gemini Bridges for the great view into Bull Canyon and the La Sal Mountains. To return to Moab continue west on Gemini Bridges trail then take Long Canyon which also has some great views. Even when you are back on the highway you will have a scenic ride along the Colorado river with Indian writing/petroglyphs and rock climbers.

You need to get the Charles A. Well's book.

Get the spiral bound.
