it turns out it needs atleat 1300 of work. should i return to seller and spend the money towards a 2001? or should i spend the money and know the engine somewhat new?

Sounds like you didn't score too good.
If you are a good bike mechanic, you can find parts and do swaps/rebuilds for relitively cheap. If you enjoy the mechanic part, then keep it and have fun fixing it.
On the other hand, if he'll take it back (with-out a case on Judge Judy), it is always nice to have a newer "just jump on and go" bike.

Whatever you do just know at some point I will be coming up there to ride it.:D

Bet I can get it to jump farther than you can

I'll give you $50 for it :D

Actually would rather have a 250. I don't have a lot of me to haul around :D & 250 can get through the woods better & I would kill myself with that much power & no weight in the bike or me. Besides that I would only ride it like once a year.

Thanks but thats more than I can afford right now. Specially since I don't have time to really ride it anyway. Something I have always wanted but will probably hold off till I find a super sweet deal I can't pass up on an older bike or wait till I win the lotto & don't have to work anymore.
