Surely ya'll cruise over to Pirate, but if not, Tanner 4wd and Ram Offroad Park are putting on the first annual Ram Offroad Challenge competition. It's a side by side 3 mile "rock race" style event. Sounds great, anyone interested should go to pirate 4x4.com and go to competitions and events in the bulletin board section for more info.

I wouldn't mind spending a few more bucks and setting my buggy up to do this type of event. Maybe next year if it pans out for Ram Offroad Park. I here that they may even have different classes if they can get a good turn out.

The race is pretty much full as I understand so I think adding classes in the future may work.

Guy...we are hitting Indy on Sat the 26 you down?

I'd be down for that, just got to get the 32 spline front output shaft for my Dana 300 put in by then. I went with a JB convertion kit. Going to install it myself, Hope I don't screw it up.

Who is going? I will be out there with my herd of kids. Looking forward to the race and really wish they would add some more classes so I could compete.

This just sounds like a blast...

The Ram Offroad Challenge is the first of it's kind offroad race ! It combines desert racing , rock crawling , rock racing , and even motocross into one adrenaline pumping extreme package !! This is the evolution of the rock sports ! For the first time ever , drivers will have some serious seat time , and will experience a wide variety of offroad disaplines ! Competetitors can expect lap times of about 12-15 minutes if they are lucky enough to complete this brutal test of man and machine!
The race format will run like this...
We will start with 36 vehicles . These 36 will be broken into groups of 12. We will start 2 drivers at a time , roughly 2 minutes apart. These vehicles will be racing on the same course except in very specific areas . We will take the 4 fastest times of each of these 3 heats and put them into the second round , we will do the same with the middle times and finaly the slow times. Every one will run their second heats . We will then take the combined times and pull out our 8 fastest drivers of the day , and this will become our final shoot out race ! We will be paying back 3-spots and should have some great runner up prizes !! The final 8 will be starting with a combined time of their first 2 runs !! The slowest times of the day will be starting first in the shoot out 8-1 and should have a slight dust advantage as well as a lap traffic advantage !
These courses are FAST !!! We have the huge steep climbs you have come to expect from the RAM Offroad Park , as well as the gap jumps ! In addition we have long desert style , fast sections full of big rollers , birms , whoops , jumps , tight sandy washs and more !!
Set up on the rigs will be critical !!!
We will be hosting an open house Sunday the 15th of June following the XRRA event , and we will also allow prerunning of the actual courses after tech inspection on June 27th ! We highly recomend drivers take advantage of this opportunity because of the length and the difficulty of this type of race !

Competitors must pre-pay and pre-register !! We are experiencing a huge and unexpected response to this race ! We are just about full ! Please send me all your team info and contact info via e-mail so I can reserve your spot ! A check is nice , but without all your info it does us no good ! Thanks a bunch and we look forward to seeing you at the races !!

We pre ran yesterday, the course will be fun. There were three rollovers yesterday during practice so it should be good for spectators!!! The course is 1.7 miles long according to JT's GPS. The only thing I wish was different was you never get out of low range on the course...I want to see some 70 mph rock racers!!

I wish they would add some classes for us non-buggy owners that want to race.

It's been a hard week but we will be ready to race. Come on out we ran the track last weekend and it's gonna be great!!!

Note-if you have and ATV or Rhino it will make watching the race easier as the rigs will be all over RAM during the race.

Is it cool if I bring my ATV? or should I just say I'm your chase vehicle?

Your fine to bring ATV's as far as I know but if you get a hassle then obviously it's a chase vehicle.

Team Xtreme will be there. Nick is running his Wrath buggy. Its had a lot of mods since the Crawl shoot including Bypass Shocks and a little different twist on tires for this course. does anyone know what top speed on the pre-runn has been??

We ran the course the day after the xrra race, on the long straight we hit just over 50MPH. Was just enough to touch the rev limiter in OD before you have to shut her down and turn. I was kinda lookin forward to some high range but it'll still be a awesome time. See you all there

See all y'all mo fuggaz out there tomorrie!
