So I had this old honda quad, a littkle trx125, great little machine, but wayyy to small for my old fat ass. Guy was looking for a small quad for his young daughter, and just swapped me a 79 honda cb750, with all the go fast goodies in it:D Not that I care to go all that fast, but this old bike can do it at will. He was the original owner, so I got all the receipts, and manual etc etc with it, and all the spare parts, including the drag parts, swingarm, low gear sprocket etc. So now I have a backup bike for the HD, or as a loaner for when the boy is in town. Or if I feel like being incognito, I can throw on the full face, and actually ride it:D I will have to get a couple of pics of it and throw em on here.
Disclaimer: I am not normally a Jap bike kinda guy, but this was to sweet a deal to pass up:flipoff2:

Those early DOHC 750s are great bikes.

Naw, gonna keep it for awhile anyway:D I was gonna put marge on it, she is ready for something bigger than her 450, but she cant reach the ground, and I would be worried about her with this thing having the race clutch in it,, its very touchy, Im afraid it would end up on top of her.

Hey Clyde if you need me too I can come over & test it for you. I won't even charge you for it, I'll just take it out & see what it can do & report back. Also if the Harley is getting dusty & needs to be warmed up let me know I can do that too. Let me know:D
by the way I am not sure if I hate more, you or what his name that had the chargers in his shop the other day  :D
nice looking bike, guy I take my bike too has one of those & I see him on the highway every once in a while, moves pretty good.

Yeah the Piglet is more than dusty, gonna have to drain everything, and throw a new battery in it, before it gets fired up,, been parked since last july.

I see you don't even think enough of it to post it in the Road Hawgs where it/you belong. :flipoff2:

Wasn't there a proposal to combine the two street/road biking forums? Whatever happened to that? I seem to recall it was pretty universally agreed on as a good idea.

My guess is that Eric hasn't had time to do it. He is swamped with some other stuff right now and didn't have internet access from home for a while. I think it is still going to happen.
Nice bike Clyde. I agree, you suck :D

guess Im gonna keep it for awhile,, insured it and plated it yesterday, now just gotta work up the nerve to go ride it. Still worried about the back thing, but its much lighter than my harley, so may go and run around the neighborhood on it today, just to shake it out a little, and fill up the tank.. :D

I use to have a yamaha 750s. I chopped the back half and dropped it to knee hieghth, put 10" struts on it, was actually pretty easy to do. You could do the same thing to that one and then let her ride it.

Naw with all the drag goodies in this one, I would be worried about her on it, and dont want to sink any cash in it, to swap out parts, It would be a shame to detune it. She has her 450, soon as we get it back in running shape, gotta get a new tank, and petcock for it to get it back running again, and she will be set for the summer..

I didnt have to change out any parts on mine either. Just a little cutting, some torch work and some bending, kept the original engine/tranny in it.
But I understand the "worried about her on it" part.

its punched out to 833, and has the race clutch in it, so theres no easing off the clutch, its either in or out, I would not want to have to pick this thing up off the top of her. I would feel safer letting her ride my harley, at least its not going to do a wheelstand on her.

Took it out, and rode it a couple of miles, just to make sure it shifted out ok, etc. everything seems good, with the exception of the starter not catching all the time. Carbs need a little tuning too, idles just a bit lower than I like, and think they need to be balanced, I dont have a balancer for em anymore tho. Anyone got a 4 carb balancer laying around??
