Does anyone know when Green Ridge opens? Is it open all year? Also, is it called Green Ridge Trail or Green Ridge Road? Thanks!

Probably won't open until late June or into July this year, it's one of the last to open in Larimer county due to the amount of mud up there.

IMHO is is the worst trail I have ever been on. Nothing but mud and small rocks. No views and the majority of it runs through dog-hair lodgepole pine.

Yeah, but it's not on TrailDamage.com yet so we need to run it at least once. We're going to have a big push for new trails this year instead of ones we've done already. Besides, I'm trying to run all of the trails before I'm dead.

Wait until late October or early November to run it in the snow. It's a pretty good snow bashing trail, but it's long, 23 miles. Start early because you'll be getting out in the dark. It gets closed at the end of the big game hunting seasons.

It's rough to say the least I'd hate to run it in snow unless you had a truggy or buddy on 37"+ tires. We ran it last fall in my buddys K30 crew cab  :D . There was a dude and his gf up there in a stock 99+ GM 2500 ex-cab and that make for an interesting trip with 2 fullsized trucks.

There was a thread on here a while back with some mud hole pictures. Title was something like "Is this green ridge trail"?

Greenridge isn't that bad. The only part on it that is hard is the one mud hole that is about 50 feet long if they have it open. But there is the bypass to that when they have it closed. That is the only real nasty mudhole, I don't think that makes the trail difficult. Usually the FS will not open the trail until it is on the drier side. They used to open it usually around July 4th, but with the amount of mud and the abuse of the trail. They will either pump out the mud if its really bad or wait until it dries.

Friends of mine who ran it last fall (we normally make a snow run of it just before it closes) said the mud holes were all closed and bypasses were cut through the woods. They said it was real tight, fullsize might not make it any more. This may have been later than 1967k10 was on it.

Doable if you stick to the named trails.

Running all the unnamed cool trails will take at least another lifetime, well, at your age anyway ............ (running, dodging the smack) ........ :D
